Pouncey restructures, finally

In 2016 the combination of Brown, Timmons and Pouncey are going to count $34.4 million on our cap.

That's a lot of money wrapped up in ILB and C, which are not traditionally high-cost positions.
Some here would like you to know it doesn't matter what they make it wont hurt the mighty Steelers.

I really expect Timmons to get cut next season if he doesn't negotiate something with the Steelers (like a paycut/extension). This comes from a guy who likes timmons play, there's no bias, his contract is just too big and the cap savings will be huge

Timmons is all pro, certainly we could get a few first round picks for our future hof linebacker... Don't you think?

Getting 10 1st Rounders for him is more likely than a team signing him for 3 million a year so at least there's that.

We'll probably extend Timmons next year into a 3rd contract. It is possible.

He's scheduled to make a pretty high $8.75 million in salary. We could give him a 4-year deal, give him $10 million to sign, 4-year, $35 million?

That would be $11 million total in year 1 and $8 million each year after?

Cap hits would be:

2016: $6.566 million (save $5.25 million on cap next year) (Age 30)
2017: $10.5 million
2018: $10.5 million
2019: $10.5 million (age 34)

Sounds like something the Steelers will do....

Pouncey's future cap hits of $10 and $11 million almost guarantees he will be released at some point.

Please dear God, please fire Colbert and bring in a real General Manager to run a real organization. He continues to make bad deals that kill the future of this team.

TAS will have a hernia hemorrhoid migraine if that happens

I totally expect it. They are that dumb.

Now that we're nearing the end of this contract and he's still the second highest paid at his position it goes to show just how bad things went last time.
