The Steelers will be back on the sideline in Baltimore on Sunday for the national anthem. Maurkice Pouncey told Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette that after practice today. Maurkice Pouncey said he is confident the Steelers will have 100 percent participation of standing players for national anthem in Baltimore — Ray Fittipaldo (@rayfitt1) […]

Does anyone else get the feeling that some way these Steelers have got the message that many were not happy with anything they did last Sunday

Yeah I don't think for them those protests will be a distraction moving forward, Steeler Nation made their mark.

Standing this week doesn't make up for last week's clusterfuck. We know who NFL players are, they're a pack of drug using, drunk driving, women beating knuckleheads. Just shut up and play football, entertain us. We don't care about your political opinions, your intellect is not respected. We pay you to do one thing, play football. And a lot of the time, like last week in Chicago, you can't even do that right.

No but a win would go a long way to ease some tension.

I wasn't offended by what they did last week and won't be no matter what they do this week. I just want them to win on Sunday.

Just play football from here on out boys. All is forgiven in my book.
But I do knowledge the franchise and the league has an entire bridge and some to mend.

For those who felt disrespected, I hope at least you guys stick around the board. Plenty of intelligent posters frequent here.
A lot of old timers to teach us youngins some life lessons :)

I thought they decided a while ago, like last year, that they would all stand out of respect for Big Al? Virtue signaling, nothing more, which means I've got bigger balls than maybe 20% of the team.

As first, I didn't know what to think. After hearing from CMT and the players, i do think their heads were in the right place. Could have they done something more productive? Maybe, but I don't think that was their intention to get the **** storm they received. The whole Big Al and tunnel thing is just a cluster that they had to deal with instead of football, which is what they were trying to do. It's a shame some are trying to drag the Penguins into the mud for going to the White House. These teams are making a team decision and some are still whining and crying about their approaches. They are grown men, athletes trying to deal with what we are while making a collective and rational(to them) decisions.

To many people carry around past tense stuff. A mistake was made in how they handled it. Team seems to be moving on and in hopes of that will also play better. The ratturds best be ready cause we're coming into their house and knocking them down.

We're playing another bad team on the road. Never happen. Flacco, who got pulled from the game last week, will polish his Hall Of Fame cred this week. Take the Rats and the points.

You have to understand, a VERY high percentage of these players do not have an IQ high enough to pour piss out of a boot with the directions on the bottom. Some even then go on to become coaches, the Steelers seem to have a few. They are also taught from a young age that they are better than everyone else because they are athletes. They are then rewarded with more money in a year than their families have see in a lifetime. When you add all that up they just don't have the tools to make reasoned well thought out ideas. They have been embarrassed very publicly and are doing nothing more than trying to spin things into a positive light. The smart players would come out and apologize personally to the fans and ask forgiveness and then move on, most of these players have proven they are not the smart player.

These same players accuse Trump of doubling down on arrogance.

I have to disagree with yaz Ron. I think last week debacle with the tunnel thingy / bad play / missed assignments/ etc etc will heighten the team's alertness to the point of KNOCKING the ratturds down !!!!!!!!!!!! To each their own and the team will take ownership by playing a little more to their potential than not.

While you may have a point to some degree, many players did attend good schools, but may have come from less favorable neighborhoods and childhoods. There are 53 personalities, backgrounds and ideologies in that locker room. To get everyone on the same page could be quite challenging and difficult. They are still young, for the most part, and get info like most of us do by social media and the internet. The MSM is not our friend and are not doing any of them any favors, either. I don't know how most bands can last 20, 30, 40 years, let alone getting a bunch of men(53) on the same page for a whole season and to throw social issues on top of that, no thanks! I give Mike Tomlin credit for letting the guys try to make a unified decision and to handle last weekend as a team. It may not have gone as they envisioned, but they gave it their best shot.

The damage was done. What this team did last week was let the tail wag the dog, just like a lot of movements have been doing over the past 8 years. Lets buck tradition and the majorities beliefs because the few have had their feelings or pride hurt.

because certain players felt they were singled out by Trump. They heard the uproar. They may have not really listened to how he said it, but they heard his words, nonetheless and it was the top story from Sat through even today. Everyone talked about it and has an opinion of it. From LeBron James to the person behind the counter at McDs. I truly believe it bothered Ben(and others) to be in that tunnel, because he wears his pride on his sleeve, when it comes to the military, law enforcement and the flag. I understand that many players were offended and wanted to make a statement. It's their right and that's why I find it remarkable that the whole team were standing in the tunnel.

I was more offended by the lackluster play of the team then them not being on the field for the anthem. Play winning football and most of us have little to complain about.

Trump wins again!

Fire Goodell!

If you listen to the media, kneeling or otherwise disrespecting the flag is no big deal and to some it isn’t. Players found out this week that it is a really big deal to a majority of Americans.

This country doesn’t ask much of it’s citizens and being respectful for a few moments isn’t much of a burden.

Besides, the flag and anthem are always the wrong target anyway. The American flag doesn’t represent the government. It represents the American people. We’re sewn right into it, a star for each state. The Constitution is based on the premise that the people have the power and they are merely loaning some to the government to keep us safe.

When you protest the flag, you aren’t protesting the President or some government agency. You are protesting ME.

The flag and anthem are the wrong target and an NFL game is the wrong place for these protests.

Sorry.............too little .............too late.......... **** the NFL

That's why I was giving them another week to get their mind right.

I think their mind is right. I think you will see 31 teams do something stupid before yinz see the Steelers do anything but stand for the flag.

I thought about this a lot, like we all did.

I just can't bring myself to even be ok with people coming out of the tunnel late.

Or anything that disrespects this country.

A song about gaining freedom, you would think every color could respect that.
