Post your final mock drafts here! Draft starts April 30th, ends May 2, 2015.

As a draft junkie I must say this is not an easy draft to call. The board just doesn't seem to fall right for us in rounds one or two at positions of need, but then again thanks to a lot of guys having questionable character it might! One thing is for certain, the defense needs to improve its pass rush, coverage ability and playmaking. So that is my theme.

1 ) OLB Gregory. I trust my eyes, and if he's there they are smiling. He's a great pass rusher and we badly need one! Gregory was blown away with our SB trophy display. I think he wants to be a Steeler and was born to play in our 3-4 system.

2 ) CB Peters. I like him as a #2 CB in a cover two system. Great ball skills. A boom or bust type of pick.

3 ) CB Olomu. Excellent coverage ability. Could be a star slot CB. A bit of a risk due to a knee injury that prevented him from working out. I like him Olomu enough to pick him in round two. High character type.

4 ) OLB Z. Smith. Stood out as a pass rusher in the east-west game and senior bowl. Did well on the 1 on 1 drills. A bit of a 'tweener between OLB and 4-3 DE, he's strong and has a good motor. Reminds me a bit of a focused and in shape Woodley.

5 ) FS Shaw. I like his size, coverage ability and speed. Our safeties are hurting. Played at a good school for DB's.

6 ) TE O'Shaughnessy. A 6'4" speedy TE with a basketball background ( good leaper ), he seems like a sleeper. Impressive production!

6B Comp pick OT/G Donal. Depth is needed. He can play multiple spots. Possible replacement if Foster leaves in free agency.

7 ) RB K Williams - Bell wore down at the end of the season, then got hurt. He starts the season with a 3 game suspension. Deangelo Wiliams was a solid pick up in free agency, but he's been the since 2006 and is 32 year old.

I like your first three picks Coach but sorry to say that I don't think Gregory is anywhere near available to us at #22. I think he goes mid round 1. Peters also will be long gone by the time we pick again in round #2.

My picks for the first four rounds are:

Round 1 - CB's Peters or Kevin Johnson
Round 2 - OLB Nate Orchard
Round 3 - CB Olomu
Round 4 - T E Jesse James

I'd take that draft. I like Orchard in round two. James I think would be a reach in round 4.

I'd take Byron Jones over Kevin Johnson or Peters at #22. Maybe Shane Ray would drop to us in round 2...

But if Gregory is on the board, I'd take him over any CB and then double dip at CB in rounds 2-4.

Byron Jones?? Really?? He is fast, but Peters is a lot better than him...Johnson too. I have a feeling one of the good pass rushers will fall to us and we can take him.

I just like Jones' upside. With Peters it's the off the field stuff, not the tape, that is a big concern. We have lost so much character (Troy, Ike, Keisel etc.) over the past couple years, do we really want to rejuvenate our defense by using a 1st rounder on a guy that has such knucklehead issues? Johnson is old and as thin as a rail. I'd be OK if he was our pick but it doesn't excite me.

I actually think Jones will go off the board well before the "mock draft consensus" is predicting...

Just what I think they will do.

1. Dupree
2. Corner, maybe PJ Williams or Darby
3. DE, Michael Bennet or cb Steve Nelson from Oregon State
4. Jeff Haeurmann
5. Defensive End or wr

The crazy thing is that Peters is prob the best cb in this class. I still take Dupree over him because he is good and out OLD depth stinks. Deebo is gone after the year, and God only knows how Jarvis will turn out. Expect 2 cb's and 2 olb's from the draft.

I agree. I like Jones and think someone will get him earlier than predicted.

Man I'd love to have Bud Dupree at #22 and I've been pimping this guy for months but sorry to say unless we move up I just don't see the Bud there at #22. I think he may even go top 10. Some have him projected at #8 to the Falcons.

1. Cb Jalen Collins
2. OLB Nate Orchard
3. Cb Steve Nelson
4. TE Jesse James
5. OLB Kyle Emanuel
6. OT
6. OG
7. De

1. Trade back, take CB Byron Jones late in 1st.
2. Trade up, take SS Shaq Thompson early in 2nd.
3. Marcus Golden OLB.
4. Another corner, perhaps Steve Nelson, Saquez Goldson (SP?) or Charles Gaines.
5. Ben Koyac TE.
6./6a. Best available of these 3: WR with KR/PR potenial, Dlineman, Olineman.
7. A edge rush project or one the three positions not drafted in round 6.

Draft starts may2? Coach, didnt you used to be on Cheers?

The title says " Post your final mock drafts here! Draft starts April 30th, ends May 2, 2015. "

I am in fact a scratch bar tender, though I never worked as one. Oddly enough I like Iron City beer. After the draft I'll offer Bermudasteel a Long Island Iced Tea as he has had to read through many of my mock drafts!

I don't "try" to bust your balls, Coach. You make it easy - but, trust and believe - you'll be treated w/ the same cordial hospitality when you come on down to JAX for a game!!! Uncle Chip brought me an Iron City couple years back - that's some good stuff!!! Still have the can in my man cave...

1 CB Marcus Peters- Stud cover corner,
2 OLB Nate Orchard- has potential to be as good as Woodley as a rusher as well as stuffing the run, versatile
3 DT Micheal Benett a quick pentrating DT who will add versatility in the nickel lining up as both the 3 T and as a RE, will be a key rotating rusher.
4 CB Olumu- a fast play maker who despite his size plays bigger and his instincts and cover ability will help us in the new pass happy nfl.
5 S Kurtis Drummond, a hard hitter will add depth to a secondary at S that needs youth
6 DE/OLB Lynden Trail- a versatile player who can line up many different spots and wreak havoc, with some 4-3, he can play RE, under DT and edge rusher
6 RB Brown Powerful runner who will help for the first 1-3 games pending on how long Bell is out, and then will be groomed in to be the long term back up to bell
7 OLB Wagensmann A no quit rusher who could rotate at LOLB as well as play DE when we are in 4-3-4, 4-2-5 5-2-4.

I am so glad I was not drinking something when I read this. And Coach I am not making fun of you either. We have all had some very interesting discussions regarding talent and how to acquire it and evaluate it on the board for quite a while with lots of differing opinions. No matter how one feels about a given post or poster it was much better in my mind to read the thoughts of the folks on here than listen to the talking heads or reading the bird cage liners that are still published. Thanks to all for some very informative and entertaining diversion while we are all in between football seasons.
