Positives--List em

I think Conner getting injured played into that.

Probably, none the less, I don't think its a good idea to abandon the running game to the degree that the Steelers did this year. They rushed the ball only 33% of the time and passed 67% of the time, that's a bit too lopsided regardless of who's in the game.

Perhaps instead of sitting on their hands when Tombert knew Bell would have been out and knew Conner's injury history, they should have brought someone better in than fumbleRusky Ridley.

I'm positive that this **** show will continue as long as Tomlin coaches this team.

You guys touched on some good positives. I have a few to add:

I love Randy Fichtner. He's for real as an OC. His playcalling was a boon to the offense. Ben with a career high passing. Over 75% in the red zone, 2 1000 yard receivers. Just a few costly turnovers stopped this team from having a chance in the playoffs. If a change happens at HC, you can still keep Fichtner, and keep the consistency with Ben. That will be very important if a change happens.

Ryan Switzer. He was a great piece of that helped the Steelers gain a valuable PR, KR and skatback/slot receiver. What a nice pickup to help move the chains. He doesn't break plays open, but he works hard every play, and will do whatever he can to help his team win.

A couple honorable mentions: Hargrave, Sutton, and Sensabaugh all improved down the stretch, and played some great defense. You want to see that in a young D, and we're starting to get some returns to the investments. I think Butler still is a problem, and needs replaced, because the talent is there to win games against top teams (See NE and NO). They also did a great job this season of mitigating points after turnovers, but just couldn't generate any themselves.

I liked that Washington started to come around and could be the 3rd WR we were hoping for.

Samuals even had some bright moments when called upon.

Vance McD was a beast at times. Holy cow!

Definitely liked Vance this season.
Offense had it's bright spots. Don't forget 5 wide! We got the weapons to be dynamic.

Watt, Hargrave, Heyward.
Whatever happend against Carolina, I hope they can mimick regularly.

Beating NE was a bright spot.

I am positive that Munch had other opportunities and turned them down. It might happen again. I am positive you don't trade away your best WR ever and think the O will recover. On a team that leans on it's O to win as the D is suspect overall. I don't want to deplete talent on that side of the ball. With Ben's small window this team can't afford to lose it's second best player. I would be possibly up for that if Ben retired. But not now.

Munch may have turned down other offers, but seein Art2 continue to support Coach Cool Shades, May give him reason to reconsider.
I did not say to trade Brown, but that I see things getting worse in yinzerland.

Reverse probably one bad snap in the Raiders, Broncos, Saints, and Chargers losses, plus that Browns tie, and this team is 15-1. I know, ifs and buts, but I only see the Ravens loss as the one true outmatch game they played all season. All those others were a missed kick or turnover away from being an ugly win and ugly wins got them a sixth ring. Put that on bad coaching, bad playcalling, bad QB decisions, bad technique. All are guilty in some regard, but 5 bad plays make the difference between 15-1 and 9-6-1. That's way better than what a lot a teams picking 1-19 in the draft are up against.

Glad you acknowledged "second best player". AB is just that, our second best player as BR is #1 and not open for discussion. Problem is AB thinks he is bigger than the team and the team would be nowhere without him.

I'm not sure where he ended up in stats but just as you say, he does his best and tries as hard as anyone out there. His attitude and perseverence would be well mimicked by other players would serve them well.

ABSOLUTELY he needs replaced. I'm not sure of who's in charge of the current "D" if Butler or CMVLT but either way it is a tired scheme. A new DC with control would do this team an amazing turnaround. You're right as the talent is there but the coaching has failed the talent. One more step and this should happen regardless and that is for Mr.Joey Porter to take his leave. Friend of the coach or not, he needs to go.

I just added my two cents.
