Anyone else wondering if we will be changing the dynamics of our Defense? Will we be pressing more? For instance such as 3rd and short more. Or third and anything actually? I simply am tired of third and 5 and we play off 10 yards and the WR runs a 5 yard out or 5 yard curl for an easy throw and catch. To many years we have seen this. Has Tomlin or should I say is Tomlin finally willing to adapt? I sure have my fingers crossed.

In theory yes. But Peterson arguably isn't a press corner in this stage of his career. So when Peezy Jr. gets on the field it could eventually morph into more press. Provided Thrice stays healthy and makes the roster sure he could follow suit. I think both are off the ball capable too. So for me, we will see. I don't think they will strictly go to press but I can see a case for the percentages to rise eventually.

One twice thrice times a maybeeeee.

No I don't think they will strictly go to press either but there are those moments in a game where press is needed at times. Hell. It seems teams press us almost the entire game.

I think it will be Peterson and Kazee on the inside.
I know they have been already looking at Pat P inside so I can see that as a possibility. I think that would be contingent on Peezy Jr. getting on the field quickly...

We probably will not know until the season starts, but if they keep thrice over Norwood its a pretty good sign… if he makes the team but replaces pierre, its a crapshoot

Its a zone league right now… we ran cover one more than ever in recent memory last season… we were 8th in the league, but we still ran zone like 64% of the time… these days every team is in zone like 60% of the time at a minimum… and typically of the man coverage, a little more than 50% of it is “off man” league wide…. So basically teams press maybe 20 percent of the time on average… a top end press team still would be at best under 25%…. I mean according to stat breakdowns over tge past couple years at least

They have to press us the entire game for a huge percentage of pour pass plays have been line of scrimmage or behind LOS pass plays. (You get my drift).

Trice was the only pick I got right in my mock...kinda happy about that lol.

In my Spirit World,………….. you did better than that……..

I think Peterson was brought in to fill the Sutton role… and sometimes he played in the slot role…
Im just curious what they do with Trice…

( Disclaimer here… yes Trice and JPjr both are reported to have looked great in otas… but remember the concern for both was if their physical, handsy approach was going to get too many flags … we really won’t know that until they are on the field in front of refs… )

But the question becomes if Patpete replaced Sutton and JPJR fills Witherspoon’s slot… whom does trice surplant?

Do they keep an extra CB at a cost of a roster spot elsewhere?
Do they short the slot position?
Do they short Safety despite looking like they are going to use an extra safety instead of an ilb at times?
Do they Cut Wallace or Pierre and leave the outside woefully short on guys with experience in the system?

It’s going to be a tough decision… and Trice is going to have to force them to keep him and not try to slip him onto the practice squad…

none of your opinions matter.
only Cooch's does.

The physical play and being handsy was always a knock on Narduzzi's CBs and a lot of late-rounders have had solid careers so far.

Yeah it is hit or miss… some can adapt and some can’t grasp the nuances of the pro game… got to see em in game action to know for sure…

Yeah, I hear comments about a college CB being "handsy" and wonder if the person offering that opinion has seen a recent NFL game. NFL CB's grab WR's every play. Jalen Ramsey pulls so much jersey he should switch to soccer (you know, because of that stupid jersey swapping thing).
