Just released from Browns, and he said in his statement the release was 100% wrong; could be looking for payback.

Normally I am not quick to suggest us signing every player who gets cut from another team, but it could be a decent addition for us. Thoughts?

Was never used properly, look good in black and gold, gets to play against former team(s) twice, probably sign for league minimum.

I like it... big nasty OLB that is used to playing in **** weather and real grass.

The only reason he was any good in B'more was because he had Suggs on the other side - if the Browns with their horrible defense cut him, pass.

Pass. Maybe next year, right now we are pretty deep at OLB.

I am not head over heels in favor of signing him, just a thought. As far as being "deep" at OLB, don't forget some of the players include a 38-year-old and Jarvis Jones, AND a still-hurt Dupree. Then we got an "OK" Moats, and unproven Chicky and a rookie.

I am NOT in favor of adding old guys from free agency, BUT, I _AM_ in favor of adding just a few if they are the cherry on top to win a ring. Browns overpaid the guy; he was never as good as they paid. But he also isn't pure garbage (Jarvis Jones).

He had 53 tackles and 11 sacks in 2014. And that was on a **** Browns team. Imagine he could help out the black and gold.

I wouldn't read much into Browns cutting him; they have ditched most of the best talent they had from last year's team. Cutting another guy says nothing about the player.

Is Freddie available? I bet he could slash through some lines

I would be for the signing. If not a CB then a OLBer who could be a situational pass rusher...

For the Browns, this is purely a money saving move. Just like when they traded punters yesterday. They are starting to dump old money and start a legit rebuild. This Browns front office may actually know what they are doing.

Chiefs and Saints are already bringing him in for a visit

Just an FYI - he's old, but, probably better than Chickallo...

This is going to be good.

Chickillo 2.0?

The Steelers 6th DL player is LT Walton. He didn't show well as a rookie and I have not seen much of him in the pre-season games. Is Paul Kruger better? Heyward and Tuitt are very good, but the next man up behind them is not. Yeah--I'd add to to our 53 man roster pending the physical.

kruger is an OLB, not a DE

Paul Kruger cut by Cleveland Browns

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns linebacker Paul Kruger has been cut by the Browns in the trim from 90 to 75, a league source told cleveland.com.

The move was due to his performance and had nothing to do with a youth movement.

Kruger, 30 was by far the biggest name among the cuts, but his production this preseason wasn't up to the the Browns standards. He dropped off from a career-high of 11 sacks in 2014 to 2 1/2 last season and was off to a sluggish start in camp.

Wasn't up to Browns standards? A good one. I do think the Browns have a player in Carl Nassib, who plays DE. When you suck, its always better to go younger and cheaper.

Kruger is an OLB not a DLman!

Don't you hicks know anything?

But I have heard this from Browns fan with every single regime change (EVERY two years since 1999), and every time, it turns out that the new one sucks as bad as the last one. They are chopping to nearly bare bone this time around, but unless they replace the old guys with better guys, it won't matter.

RG3 looks like he will take a BEATING this season. He is never going to last behind that OL.

Shouldn't you strive to improve every single unit at all times? Kruger is better than Jarvis.

WE NEED DB's! Not LB's

With only around $4M in cap space it would be a waste to spend on a slow aging LB when our secondary is a disaster!

Shabazz will ease your worries.

Striving to improve is a goal, don't think Kruger is the best way to allocate our limited funds to improve though.
While Kruger has had a more productive past I believe JJ has the more productive future. Why throw $ at a declining guy's past performances when the money could be better spent elsewhere.

JJ better option than Kruger for this year's campaign.
