Patriots Saturday Advantage

Look, I don't really care about the issue but thought it worthwhile to correct the facts. You said it has to do with seeding more than anything else. It doesn't.

Nothing better when you show someone they are wrong when they are beating their drum and they come back and try to make YOU as the ***. LOL

If this is such a big deal, then change the format. Make Satuday games the NFC games and Sunday the AFC games one year, and the next year switch them. Keep both conferences on the same day. Easy peezy.

Yep. That's the thing, though. It's not really such a big deal at all. But here? It's the end of the world

In this article they kind of touch on it. There is no formula for deciding who plays on what day.

The league schedules playoff games based on a variety of factors, and everyone with a stake in the situation lobbies for the day and time they want. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don’t.

Regardless, playing on Saturday always provides a potential advantage in advance of the conference title game, since it provides more time for preparation, recovery, and travel.

And approximately 71% of the time that potential advantage is given to the Patriots.......it would be interesting to see how that shakes out with other perennial playoff teams.

Guys, this is barely an advantage. You want to see scheduling favoritism? When Manning was a Colt, check out the outdoor games scheduled at cold weather teams in December. That was a statistical deviation if I ever saw one...

Stop sucking your thumb and trembling at the word "patriots", you're a grown man for Godsake. It has to do with seeding more than anything else

Thanks for your enlightenment and factual statement, a scholar you are.......................................**** the FAVORED cheatriots !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If both one seeds play Saturday I don't get the problem? I could give two ***** about NE, they aren't on the schedule this week.

It's not a slam dunk advantage like stealing your opponents audio or shutting off their headsets in key situations, but it absolutely is an advantage to have an extra day. It is even a bigger advantage when the team getting the extra day is home and their opponent with 1 less day has to travel.

The patriots record is much better with the extra day as well.

It is also clear that they have been given this advantage far too often to be coincidence. And no, the Saturday game does not automatically go to the #1 seed.

The NFL itself has acknowledged the advantage of an extra day off by cancelling the week 17 Monday night game. They did so precisely because it was not fair if a team needed to win that last Monday to get into the playoffs, then had a short week to prepare.

Great first post, thanks for researching it.

You'll come to find that, quite often, facts tend to get overlooked around here.

The #1 seeds should get the Saturday games. That is the fairest approach, but it's probably not always in the NFL's best interest to do it that way.

I believe CBS built a CBS themed bar/restaurant at the pats stadium.
That is correct. I ate there before the AFCCG last year. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the packers get their ***** kicked bad, only to walk into the stadium minutes later and get my dreams crushed.

Don't forget the refs and their best buddy in New York Al. The **** is a joke. Just like the NFL product with its horseshit defensive rules of engagement that they choose when to enforce and when they keep those flags in their pocket.
