PF looks a lot like Heath Miller when he got drafted/or in college. To the people that say “it’s a good pick, not a great pick”, I pose this question. If PF has the same career as Heath what would you call the PF pick then ?

I thought you were going to throw up some comparisons. Anywho i presume they would all be ok with a similar career path.

What about those of us who call it a great pick from the get go.......................... how come we don't get an option???

I think if you look at a portion of the fans ..perhaps it wasn't their favorite pick that some of that might have simply been thinking there was bigger needs. Not necessarily thinking Pat wouldn't be a solid player. **** I knew I was hoping Oline early and often mixed in with a certain CB or two. I knew the draft wouldn't solve all that ails this team. Now just hope they fortify some remaining depth concerns.

He was the second TE taken and the first that wasn't a huge WR posing as a TE taken. I expect big things from him. not comfortable with any comparison to a guy with almost 600 receptions and over 6000 yards to a guy who hasn't played a down. Heath was more than just a great player. He was a quiet leader. Many good things being said about Pat Friermuth. Lets watch it play out.
I will say this. If Pat can block for real he would instantly start at TE in my 11 personnel packages. Then when I go 4 or 5 R I would look at bringing Ebron in.

Cause you don’t drive a luxury car

I know it's classified as a pick-up truck but my Luxury S10 sure makes you feel like you've already WON !!!

With that being said, it's curious how they do not draft a WR in the second round for the first time since 2016, but draft a TE, another receiver, instead.

Tomlin and Colbert clearly see value in receiving talent in the second round. It's a pretty obvious pattern at this point.

I'm not necessarily complaining, as I do like Freiermuth as a player and think they got some solid OL prospects a bit later, but constantly drafting WRs/TEs early may be a reason why the OL was in such bad shape last season.

The draft capital needs to be spread around a bit.

I'd say they had left over talent in Decastro, Pouncey and free bees with Al, Feiler and to a lesser extent Finney, but the free bees dried up when Munchak left. So yeah they need to invest capital. Problem is they are again all in on Ben and an Olineman wasn't going to move the needle for this year at 24 or 55.

idk about moore. But Olineman in first or 2nd.. would might move the needle by keeping ben walking through 17 games.

Definately !!!

I said we needed 2- OL in the first three rounds. We got one and I think he should start from the git-go. I'm not complaining at all of their picks but we do need to invest big in the OL. If Moore can start this year and they invest a 1st or 2nd next year and he starts, they are on their way..

Seeing how we are using "facial" size for evaluating starters,........ my question is...... who has the bigger face between Chukes & Moore....?

What about their head size?

Head size is used to determin the defensive backfield..................... Face size is for OL

Two things that stood out for me when we picked The Muuuth.
First, great value where we chose him. Second rated TE in draft and was surprised he was there.
Second, Steelers looking not only to this season but the future. Ebron won’t be here in 2022 and Muuuth will be the starter for years to come. They saw the second coming of Heath Miller and no way they were passing on Muuuuth. This is a trademark Kevin Colbert pick.

Muth has that kind of basketball player physicality the hood tes have now.. both catches kinda of show his ability to go up and get the ball… glad we got him he could a lot of tds this year…

it is going to be alot of fun to see this kid develop. might be the best tightend we have ever had.

I haven't seen Muth run block like Heath as a rookie yet.
Tall order. I think his blocking will improve but Heath was a damn good run blocker. Saying that I think the kid has the drive, that is a start.
