Passing on Foster

See this is it. Teams know about the drug issues. But this is it. If the players can't stop for the combine now it's a issue. That means it's a problem not just a once in a while thing. It's a habit if you can't stop when you need too

It's almost as if it's ... chronic.

Also, I am befuddled at the fact that the Steelers should have taken an ILB who is 6'0", 229 lbs. and runs a 4.62 40. Yeah, he is going to dominate NFL guards ...

Foster apparently has a current issue. Watt does not. Not even a comparison. Great pick at our top area of need.

So you're saying Watt having had surgery done on both of his knees, including one serious enough to cause him to miss an entire season, is of no concern to you? Not being current doesn't mean it's not an issue.

Watt hasn't had an issue in 2 seasons.

Watt had his second surgery in the spring of 2015, then didn't start at all that season, and finished with 8 tackles and 0 sacks. Not exactly a taxing workload there.

Sure, it's great that he was able to come back and play a full season, but I'm still uneasy about a player who's suffered injuries in not one but both knees.

I've yet to find a draft grade out there on Foster that's not an A+ or A, but maybe you and TDX27 know more than the rest of us. We'll see.

I'll tell you something else that sets Watt apart from Foster. Watt led all LBs in the Wonderlic with a score of 29. Foster scored a 9. Two years ago, Foster led the team in missed assignments. There is some thought that he will need to be yoked to another player to keep him aligned and what to do.

Missed assignments kill teams.

Good point.

The difference, unless i am mistaken, is that Watts have healed and he played the whole season healthy

Yes, as others have already pointed out, Watt has played a full season on two surgically repaired knees. Maybe he's as good as new. I sure hope so.
