Our team has always been about defense. Every Super bowl we have won the defense has been a huge reason as to why we have won them.

We all know we have followed a different route the last several years and have given in to what is popular. high scoring offenses.

why cant we buck the trend and throw everything into defense.

Trade AB for the highest 1 st round we can get. pick the best defensive player with that pick

pick best defensive player with pick 20

pick best defensive player with 2nd round pick

take cap money that Bell saved us and sign best corner or ilb

extend Ben for several years and work on his turnovers.

Bring back defense!!!! **** 5 wide we have tried 5 wide

Ben for how many years? He's not a spring chicken. It seems a little rash. Maybe some more thought is in order.

Goodell’s league doesn’t want more defense, hence why we have so little good defensive units now. Goodell’s league wants points scored, as a result the rules have been changed to make playing defense much more difficult.

To the original poster.......... Those years of "OFFENSE" have also been years of defense. Our coaching staff as current have shown they cannot put a good defensive product out there. I'd say more than 2/3 of your high round "D" picks will not come close to living up to potential and the other 1/3 might get average and slightly above. Look at current "D" and see the number of high draft picks currently there........ UNTIL coaching iOS upgraded I'm afraid you'd just be picking boogers and wondering why , Oh why can't these guys produce........

Ben is getting extended, probably 3 years, but it will lower his cap hit this season

We've tried to throw alot at the defense.
Heyward, Jones, Shazier, Dupree, Watt, Burns, Edmunds- all 1st rounders

Tuitt and Davis 2nd rounders

Haden big name brought in.

Obviously we need to draft better.

That's what I thought you said...................

Per Bouchette, several of Ben's picks came from AB running incorrect routes

I get that but say he causes 2 to 3 INTs with 100+ catches getting open.

And his replacement catches 50 passes and as a result Ben forces the ball various players causing 5 to 6 INTs.

We aren't getting the better of that deal........................If you are going to get rid of AB you damn sure better have two capable WRs coming in to help make up for his departure.

Maybe Ben doesn't have to force the ball to anyone to try to keep them happy is AB is not there

With our ****** D? L O L

Points will still need to be scored, a lot of them.
You missed my point, Ben forces some balls to AB to try to keep him happy, without AB, he won't have to worry about keeping anyone happy and can just worry about throwing to who is open.

Obviously we need to draft better.

I would say that we need to develop, teach, and coach better. Have better schemes in place that the players we have on the field can execute. Until that changes, all the drafts and free agents will not do anything to make us better.

Yeah totally agree, unfortunately I don't see the scheme going anywhere.

I get your point. And some of it is reasonable. But if this team finds itself behind, even more than normal. Very reason able that INTs could come as a result.

He is a competitor that hates to lose. Who loves to take risks. AB or no AB that won't change.

All true, but he's won super bowls and put up big numbers before AB.
AB needs him more than Ben needs him. Everyone thought the offense would struggle without Bell, it actually got better. Yards per carry were up, scoring was up, red zone % was up.

I just can't see AB putting his tail between his legs coming back and apologizing to everyone. It's been 2 weeks and he hasn't even returned any of Rooney's calls. If they don't trade him and he has to stay, I can't see him giving max effort any more.

True and those SBs there was some decent WRs on it, our depth will need to improve to have similar results.

If there is solid value offered I trade him, but if not he will be read the riot act with stiffer penalties moving forward.

He is a problem that needs to be solved one way or another. No more wrist slaps.

Unless others aren't getting open forcing him to force the ball.

I would rather not find out.

Yeah. Cannot force to Juju. Love the kid but he is not the playmaker AB is.
McDonald and James don't necessarily require double teams in the passing game either.

Need Conner and JSam to have strong games to solidify the passing game imo. Keeps the D off balance. But.....AB takes a lot of that pressure off the others

If he'd come back and apologize and do what he needs to do to make **** better, and he's going to be a team player, then I'd love to keep him. I just don't see AB being that kind of person, and sometimes getting that me first attitude out of there makes everyone play better.
