We have always made a trip or two to Steeler training camp in Latrobe at St. Vincent's. This year will be very different. Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to go to the training camp at Heinz Field yet ? We are at about the 40-45 yard line.

I haven't been there this year or I'd help. Not a lot to do from what I understand though. No autographs. You can hang out by where they leave in their cars and maybe get a selfie

Yes, a lot of what we always enjoyed about Training Camp we won't get to do. The autographs, seeing players coming down from their locker room, and leaving at the end of practice. Then trying to see them again after they leave the locker room.

The last Training Camp we went to - 2 years ago - my youngest daughter actually got an autographed jersey from Joe Haden. She will never forget it, and neither will we.

Their first year, they got their picture taken with a Steeler and he put his helmet on her, while he picked up our other daughter.

Things like that don't happen every time we go, but when they do it's pretty memorable. It always amazes me the number of people that are at the Training Camps. Thousands typically. It will be different, but it will still be fun I'm sure.

To me, I've always LOVED training camp. So many players working hard for the chance to make the final cut for the team. Or, try to show enough to possibly make it on another team. Always amazed at just how fast these players are when you get to see things at field level. I'm still amazed at the speed and the vision they have to see things develop at the line of scrimmage.
For the kids, its always fun to see the faces of the players they see on TV. Or even get a chance for an autograph or two, or actually meet a player. The activities for kids were always fun too. Several years, I probably missed more than half of training camp because the kids were having so much fun doing all the different activities they had on hand.

Bring a good camera. A lot to see walking around with the display cases, etc within the stadium. Bring comfy clothes..good walking shoes. As you are in walking distance of Bettis grill etc. (I see his grille is temporary closed but there is other closeby eats/shops.)

Forget the BS of the current 'pandemic' carbon, just take all that you can all in. There are restrictions etc. but you can't put a price on that moment/memory.

Ben is near the end - and as a warrior goes out, he's not going out without a fight. I'm looking forward to watching our HOFer go out in a blaze of glory.
