One quick and easy move Tomlin should make

S Thomas has to be one of the most stupid Steelers of all time. In fact, he should be on the Bengals.

I have seen a least three 15 yard penalties on special teams. When a player does this, he creates more bad than good!

Tomlin should remove this liability ASAP. Agreed?
 
Yawn..... Just start your next thread already. Here is a topic.....Did JJ earn his option year in his contract based off of his play in Saturday nights game? Then give your usual reasons why he hasn't earned it and should be cut asap.

I'm okay with the 47th to 53 man being a special teams guy, but he has to be good at it Stillwright. Thomas costs his team too often. I think the move is a no-brainer.

JJ has far more value than Thomas. Let's not go off tangent as some would say there is already enough threads on Jones
 
So, just to be clear ... you're saying that Tomlin should cut Shamarko ... right now ... in the middle of a playoff run ... with no apparent replacement and with Golden nursing a shoulder injury.

Again, the Steelers coach the special teams to run as close to the returner as possible to distract them... their special teams coach said as much after the seattle game... there is no halo rule... doing that will get some penalties from idiotic refs and occasionally you will contact a returner and get a legit penalty, you live with that.. this is akin to asking for Decastro to get cut because he occasionally has a holding call against him... Penalties in the course of play happen... the dumb ones are like Gays celebration penalty.... and no one is asking for him to be cut today

No, I'm saying do not play him on special teams, as penalty flags are more likely than tackles. Would you be for or against that decision?

According to Tomlin Thomas does not have it above the neck, so he would no likely be an option to play in the defense.

If he gets a hat for the game (and he undoubtedly will given Golden's injury), then he has to play on special teams.

Says who? He has to play? Landry Jones had a hat, and he doesn't play special teams. There are some players who dress that do not cover kicks.

I didn't mention anything about him playing on defense. You do realize that Golden is a key special teams contributor. So, with him nursing a shoulder injury that may or may not act up during the game, if you sit Shamarko, you put yourself in the position of possibly losing two special teams players. Because Shamarko has made some terrible decisions? Yeah, I agree he has. I also note that he has made some fantastic stops on ST. So, no, I don't sit him on ST and I hope to hell that Golden can go and play defense because I want Shamarko nowhere near the field as a Safety.

That we traded up for this guy, a pick that went to the Clowns, man Shamarko is dumber than a box of rocks. Huge disappointment

I think he has three 15 yard dumb penalties on special teams. I'm not sure how many special tackles he has. Is he worth it? I did see we brought back Ventrone, and he's excellent on special teams. We also have Grant, who was dubbed the best tackler among the corners in the draft.

There are other solutions. With Ben likley out, big penalties must not happen.

Whoa there Coach! What do you mean Big Ben likely out? Lets not throw the towel in already on the big man. I say he and AB will both be ready to go Sunday.

On Thomas, we all know he's a huge disappointment but it would be a stupid move to cut him now when your team is in the midst of a playoff run.

Hello FNG. Have you ever been around someone with a sperated shoulder on his throwing arm? If that report is accurate, Ben's not playing this week. It typically takes 4-6 weeks for a separated shoulder to heal.

Now--If Ben just had his shoulder popped in, that is a different story!
 
If we're talking about Someone sitting. Number 41 sounds bout right.

Hey Coach, make yourself useful and start a Broncos/Steelers thread... I'm fairly certain my allotment of new threads is used up for the week and I am sick of talking about bungels
 
Thomas needs to play smarter, but there is a reason he is in position to make that penalty. He is the guy getting down the field the fastest
and makes quite a few tackles on special teams.
