J’Mon Moore gets a Steelers pre-draft look-see. And you can watch him at the Senior Bowl if you like.

Missouri WR J'Mon Moore says he is meeting with Steelers later tonight. Physical, versatile wideout who loves to block. #Steelers

Sounds like our kind of guy. Big, physical blocker that catches the ball.

Yes, just what we need, another receiver. Maybe Tomlin should go watch film of his defense this year.

So all our picks on D? Nevermind one of our WR's is out due to injury?

k

besides some viewed Juju not a big need, and he turned into exactly that.

Rogers is down with an injury...DHB can not catch, Hunter is likely gone......and who knows which version of Bryant will show up next year.....plus the Steelers draft a WR more often than not....why not talk to a few guys...doesn't mean they won't focus on defense come draft day

Article didn't say what round he's projected to be taken. As long as its 3rd round or later, I'm fine with it. Gotta go D before anything else.

it's third round or later

We are talking about Eli Rogers, not Brown or JuJu. WR would be the LAST position I would be looking at in the draft. I would be looking at RB and/or TE before I would look at WR. Just my opinion.

Uhuh now say something happens with Bryant who do you go with?

You would be one short. Eli was a decent emergency option, that is gone now.

Put down the pitch fork and actually talk some football for Christ sakes. You don't need to lead the parade against Tomlin in every thread.

We have AB, and JuJu guaranteed.

Bryant is probably going away even though he claims to want to come back. Rogers tore his ACL, and is a restricted free agent. He may get the lowest tender available if they think he's worth shelving until he's healthy. Possibly not until after week 10. DHB is under contract but he's basically a special teamer only now. Hunter showed nothing in his limited time. Though I think he has enough talent to warrant being rostered.

They're going to need another receiver and I bet they draft one.

Has nothing to do with pitchforks, we have 5 draft picks this year, 1,2,3,5,and 7. So realistically we have 4 picks that MIGHT be contributors this year. We need an ILB, S, and NT on D. Offensively, we realistically need an RB and probably a TE as McDonald was far from reliable from a health perspective. I would not drop a draft pick on a WR when this probably should be a need based draft if this team wants another SB before the Ben window closes.

We have 2 5th round picks and 2 7th round picks. Plus we will get a compensation pick. Likely a 6th rounder.

I look at it like this. Two fold.

Biggest weakness, biggest depth concern.

If Watt went down who could take coverage responsibilities?
Shazier went down and you have nobody cover capable.
****** depth at FS.

Two of these can even be addressed in free agency. And should be.

And then you draft all three positions. As well as drafting a WR, and a T if they lose one in free agency.

RB they might bring back Ridley, to pair with Conner. I think that is adequate. Also ok with Jess and McDonald who grew on me.

Moats- cut
Gay- cut
Big Dud - wouldn't resign
Wilcox cut-
Cody Sens- cut
Spence- wouldn't resign

If we bring them in, there's a good chance we take him, everyone knows that

Consensus for #1 pick:

Kiper has Steelers drafting Alabama ILB Rashaan Evans in 1st Mock Draft

Kiper has the Steelers taking a linebacker in the first round for the fifth time in the past six years.

2018 NFL Mock Draft: A scenario where the Steelers take a quarterback in the first round

Could the Pittsburgh Steelers target a quarterback in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft?

The Pittsburgh Steelers need a quarterback. There is no arguing this point, Ben Roethlisberger simply isn’t going to play forever. With Roethlisberger openly committing to return to the team in 2018, it would make sense the team look to the 2018 NFL Draft to potentially find his eventual replacement.

At Walter Football, they project the Steelers to do just that by selecting Lamar Jackson out of Louisville with the 28th overall pick in this year’s Draft.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers

Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

Teams believed Lamar Jackson would return to school, but he has opted to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft. Jackson has amazing upside because of his huge arm and great mobility, but he needs to work on his mechanics and ball placement. Sitting behind Ben Roethlisberger for a year or two would be ideal.

Takes a whole lot of imagination for a drafknick to slot a ILBer, for the Steelers to take in one.

Can he run and cover? Most Bama lbs seem to be of the mold of big thumpers. Steelers dont need that. They need a run and cover guy who can tackle.

That's a great list to cut/not bring back and I'm sure you're Big DUD is referring to Big Dan. I'm all for looking at this WR and bring in the max number of players to look at.
That's how you shop for a _______________ (insert item here), the more you look at the better chance you get a model you like.

Salute the nation

I'm not sure how high they are toting this WR, but I wouldn't touch him before the 5th round. His routes are sloppy, his hand placement is ok, but he likes to body catch a bit too much for me. He has lazy hands, coming out of breaks with his hands at hip height, that's why that first ball was a tip interception. The thing I liked the best out of the 2 videos was his blocking.

He has the coveted numbers for a WR 6'2" and 200+lbs. He is nothing near the college talent JuJu was. JuJu doesn't take plays off. This guy walks around on some running plays.

Could be their smoke and mirror, as they have to flood prospects, so other teams can't zero in on the picks.

With a torn ACL Steelers might not offer Rogers a contract. Hunter is gone. DHB isn't really involved in the passing game.
So your down to 3 receivers AB, JuJu and Bryant. Why would TE be a bigger priority? Steelers need 4 WR's plus Bell
to go 5 wide.

I would give Hunter a second contract without thinking twice. He's cheap, and if the Steelers deal Bryant, he is the Z receiver. No brainer for me. This is only because Eli got injured. DHB has hit the end of his usefulness to the team. He's being replaced by younger players on Special Teams, and does not have a slot in the offense.

Steelers must legit draft a returner WR this year. Either that or let Sutton return kicks.
