ol Mcdonald freed up some cap space by restructuring E I E I Oh

And if we are wrong we are wrong.

But you would think there is some reason even if it isn't Mack.

We could use a ILB /OLB/TE/WR.

I think something is up, but when we restructure, we do it proactively for retaining our own talent by signing new contracts, or retroactively, when we have an opportunity, like we got last year with Haden.

There are only 2 internal signs that could decrease the salary cap space:

Ramon Foster
Jessie James.

Jessie seems like the best bet to retain. Dude is solid and unsinkable. Plus he improves every year. He's the guy I'd sign.

This may be a space creation period for the upcoming cuts, so we can grab someone, but I've never seen the Steelers do that before. Not out of the realm of possibility, but it would be a first.

Possible trade in the works for a mid-tier player or they are prepping for Saturday when everyone makes their cuts. I'd bet they are looking for an ILB or depth OL.

To trade for Bell or Mack both teams would have of had to have coversations and come to agreements on long term deals. No trades can happen without that happening first

AND, correct me if I'm wrong, wouldn't both players have to be signed BEFORE a trade could be worked out? And we all know that Le'Meon would **** on any deal that was proposed, killing the whole thing.

Why, if OAK gave him what he is seeking in guarentee money? It's all about the money with him. OAK would know his asking price and would have parameters to work with.

No. Mack is under contract and is holding out. Bell hasn't signed his tender and is not under contract.

So Mack doesn't have to sign to be moved, he signed when he agreed to it a few years ago. Bell does. Both players need to be signed to a contract to move the contract.
