My hangup on Corley was the bills media felt he was WR 8 there since he was so underdeveloped...
if we were looking for WR 6 or even maybe wr 5 a guy like that is an ok gamble
But a verified wr 2 is really our need...
Verified #2 is only available via trade and he either has to be a problem or want more then #2 coin.
Remember when they were talking about McLaurin. He ended up getting DK money.

Yep. I don't know if anything went on behind the scenes or if he just really wanted to stay in Pittsburgh.

Diontae's attitude really imploded, but it was the completely ineffective passing offense that eventually led to it and it has snowballed since. Normally I'd be 100% against bringing a guy like DJ back, but with Rodgers now being an adult in the locker room, I'd sign Johnson for a league minimum. The first instance of acting out of line and ship him out. But he is a proven talent who who be an ideal WR2 behind DK if he could get his act together again.
The Jets (not bills) gave up a 5 and 7 to take him with the first pick in the 3rd round last year. I hardly think they gave that up for a perceived WR8. I was hoping he would drop to us at the time. He was highly touted and led yards after catch in the nation. I guess he was an immature headcase this past season. All the potential in the world means nothing when you perceive yourself to be a star before putting in the work. Which apparently he never did. He’s only 23. I would rather they take a chance on a young guy that could wake up if handled properly than the 3 over the hill WR’s they have signed the last 4 seasons. That take the safe no risk route has not worked out at all, just like CMT offence. Of course any sign of trouble…. Cut.

When was the last time any such young guy woke up in the NFL, and when was the last time one of those guys did so with the Steelers? Young guys that could wake up if handled properly (especially wide receivers) have left a trail of destruction at the Steelers (Bryant, Ta'amu, Pickens, Claypool).
Of course I realize all that. What? Should everyone just give up and never take a chance on players? Let’s keep on getting guys like Van Jefferson,Mike Williams, Allen Robinson, Gunner O. Etc,etc. All these guys past their prime,just looking for one more paycheck. It’s been working so great for us. Yawn.
Look….i get what you’re saying. Any hint of trouble after expectations has been laid out,cut.

“Left a trail of destruction”
A bit dramatic
Bryant (a 4th rounder) was an explosive deep target yielding over 1900 yards and 17 TDs in his brief 3 year stint with the Steelers before he smoked his way off the team. Hardly a “trail of destruction”. Considering the miss rate of 4th rounders that is still very productive and his smoking cost them the final year of his rookie deal.
Pickens (a 2nd rounder) was only their most explosive offensive player in his time here and a human highlight reel. Playing through a crap system and crap QBs he still managed to put up very solid numbers (over 2800 yards and 12 TDs) and returned a 3rd rounder in his departure. Polarizing, sure, but also hardly “a trail of destruction”. A loss of one round in the draft for cheap receiver production for three years with a little bit of crazy as the cherry on top.
Claypool (a 2nd rounder) flashed immense potential but seemed to lack the discipline/focus to tap that full potential. Got two productive years notching over 1700 yards and 11 TDs before being dealt in his 3rd season for a second rounder that became JPJ. In essence a draft capital win with two years of very cheap production.
Sure you’d hope the coach could connect with these players (be it the position coach, OC or HC) and help them realize their potential but all of these guys were simply cases of players not hitting their ceiling but yielding cheap, productive years before their departures.

Right, but what would be the point of adding a developmental wr to this bunch? He is maybe worth a PS spot, but the roster's weak point is length and experience. He offers neither of those... he is mid sized with average speed. Those kind of guys have to be great route runners to contribute... he isnt yet...
