just a thread to post any observations on other games you may watch


Browns vs Panthers on NFL Net now. Browns fans will have Shedur down as a hall of famer after this one.
 
Keaton Mitchell from the Ravens looked pretty good last night. just what they need another weapon

And I would mention KP's 2023 preseason as a cautionary tale.

Not just Browns fans. The hype on twitter right now is off the charts.
 
He had a nice TD pass. Other than that it's check downs and him holding the ball and scrambling. Just like at Colorado. He threw what should have been an INT but it was dropped. He looks fine, but the hype is insane.

We should hope for him to do well so the browns draft the next Kellen Winslow Jr while the steelers draft the next Big Ben.

He looked ok. Made a few nice plays. I think he’s going to end up a solid pro at a minimum. Is he going to be a superstar? Hard to tell considering he played with 2-3’s against 2-3’s for the majority of the game. He looked like a rookie, but it didn’t look too big for him. I know folks here want him to fail, but I’m not so sure he will.
 
I don't think he'll be an outright bust. He can be a backup or a mediocre starter. The problem is his fans talk about him like he's Mahomes out there. If he winds up on a good team with weapons, he can do OK. He's Andy Dalton or Brock Purdy.
 
Yeah, some of his fans are ready to put him in the HOF, and ESPN and NFLN aren’t helping. The way they gushed about his performance after the game was odd I thought, but whatever.

I think he’ll be better than Dalton and saying he’s Brock Purdy is more of a compliment I would say. I guess we’ll see. I’m not really worried about it. The Steelers have their own problems at QB.

I was intrigued by Mitchell his rookie year, thought they may have found somebody then.

I believe this is year 3. Flashed very briefly his rookie year as an UDFA, then spent the season on IR last year.

Wonder how they use him with Henry obviously getting his touches and justice hill spelling him primarily in the pass game.
 
Geez! It’s one preseason game playing with and against scrubs for the most part and against possibly the worst team in the league.
I simply put zero stock in preseason football games.
I start grading when the ammo is live starting in September. If he plays in the regular season against these complex defenses let’s see how he plays. If he shines in the regular season then I will give him his props but this stuff is a joke.

Both TDs were limp arm throws that won’t work against first team defense in a regular season game.
 
My gosh it will be amazing if the Browns start the season with Sanders... can you imagine the entitled hissy fit when he inevitably gets benched...

The browns are an immature team. They cant handle drama well... its the root cause of many of tgeir collapses... with their D, if tgey have a conservative QB, they can make noise... turnovers will murder them though...

A rookie like Sanders starting is the last thing they need

If he keeps showing up in preseason games their crazy owner will force them to start him early...
