Amazing game. The Seahawks are the most complete team the NFL has seen in a long time.

Offense:

QB Russell Wilson had an off night and still outclassed Aaron Rodgers. Throws. Runs. Leads. Andrew Who?

RB Marshawn Lynch is a monster. Green Bay put hats on this dude in the backfield all night but couldn't bring him down.

WR I've said for years that Percy Harvin made Tim Tebow and not vice versa. A healthy Harvin is a D-coordinator's worst nightmare. He defines the word versatile.

OL The one chink in the armor. They blew up holes for Lynch, but allowed alot of pressure to Wilson. He was flushed on nearly every drop back.

Defense:

DL Eddie Lacy was OROTY in 2013. No matter. Green Bay tried all game to run the ball, but Lacy had linemen in his face all night. And the sack/fumble/safety was a thing of beauty. We don't have any rushers who can come of the edge like that.

LB They were everywhere. You'd think there were 11 guys playing that position alone. Dropping onto the secondary, coming up to smash the run, they swarmed, the way ours used to.

DB The Legion Of Boom is still in full effect. Richard Sherman was not thrown at a single time. Not once the whole game. Aaron Rodgers is an accurate guy, but the windows he had to throw into were tiny.

The special teams and coaching were also impressive. Pete Carroll may be the most underrated coach in the league. The announcers talked all game about his staff being raided next off season.

Some notes on Green Bay.

1. They've got a mean pass rush. As mentioned, Wilson was pushed off his spot all night. It's the only thing that kept them in this game, because with Wilson throwing the ball lights out like he did in the Super Bowl, this game is a rout of epic proportions.

2. Aaron Rodgers is a truly special talent. He made some genuinely impossible throws in this game, including one called back by a penalty. Going down to his knees he threw a fastball to the sideline and hit his man in stride. It was amazing, though all for naught.

3. Lord what we'd be with Clay Mathews. He's ridiculous in every way. Running down hand offs from the back side, getting after the QB, blowing up WR screens and covering down field. Barring injury he's on his way to The Hall.

We're crowning them champs in week 1?

All I really took away from this game was that the Packers are pretty much where the Steelers were in 2012. They're aging in spots and they have a terrible defense. They also have some injuries, which is something that's been plaguing them for several years now. Not sure where this idea in the media came from that they were a serious contender for the SB this year. They have the benefit of playing in a ****** division, so that may help them like it did last year to maybe stumble into the post season again, but they're a hurting team and I don't see them going anywhere, even if Rodgers manages to remain upright.

The Seahags did look good. Right now they are scary.

.

The Seahawks are good, no doubt. Let's see how they do on the road.

.

And ummm ya think the Seahawks just might have a Head Coach that knows wtf he's doing?

What I saw, was eerily similar to how we started the season last year. GB's TE takes out their starting RT and himself. From that point on, whoever was lined up over the RT had a field day. It wouldn't have been that easy had their starting RT still been in. I also see a HUGE weakness in the Seahawks defense, Green Bay just no longer has the weapons to exploit it. They don't flip their corners, so at any point, you can get the matchup you want. For much of the first quarter, Sherman was matched up against GB's #3 WR.

The Packers made a huge mistake by thinking that Jordy Nelson could be a #1 WR. He is a very good WR, but that team is going to struggle with only Nelson and Cobb as receiving threats.

Let's also not pretend that GB has some amazing defense. They've always had trouble making tackles, and outside of two good pass rushers, they just aren't very good at all. They made no adjustment what so ever to stop the jet sweep with Harvin, they missed several easy tackles (Ha Ha Clinton Dix had a real rough first NFL game).

Seattle is good, there's no doubt. However I came away less impressed with GB more than anything.

They didn't flip their corners last year either. It doesn't matter because their entire secondary and their pass rush are so legit, They have their system and they execute it absurdly well. That Maxwell kid is looking like another late round gem for that DB factory they're running.

If they have a weakness, it's their run defense, as like much of the league, they've sacrificed size for speed up front to combat all the passing in the league,

You HAVE to establish the run against them early. If you cannot and allow THOSE ends and safeties to focus solely on the pass, you may as well wave a white flag offensively.

The lack of any semblance of a running game is a prime reason why the Broncos were destroyed by them.

They're kind of perfectly built to win in today's NFL. They've built a strong two back/lead blocker based offense that bends these increasingly smaller front sevens over and shoves the ball up their *****.

I kind of expect the fullback to have a resurgence in the league, as teams start to emulate what the Seahawks are doing and counter the increasing use of beefed up safeties at LB in the league.

Carroll and Schneider are operating on a different level from the rest of league right now. They're making Tombert look like a joke in comparison.

It all shows just how far off the mark the Steelers have fallen.

I'm not making any predictions based on one game. But I did think several times last night how much I love the Seahawks defense. They play the right way. Their tackling is fantastic and they remind me of how the Steelers defense used to play - attitude/fundamentals/etc.

Solid tackling and gang tackling all night.

1 game.... game 1 at home with a crazed crowd (not they aren't always)...and we are handing out the Lombardi...Glad I have waited since February for a 1 game season..

There are a few teams that could give SEA problems, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are in the NFCCG again. They are that good. Saying that, one injury could turn the tide. So far, they have been lucky to have a healthy Lynch, Harvin, Sherman or Wilson. They're a fun team to watch. As they do a lot of things so well and sound. They are a well-oiled machine, from coaching to the players.

The Seahawks defense is unreal. It is week 1 and they look better than they did last year. Injuries may be the only thing that can stop them.

Last night, they had 9 men within 5 yards of the line on a passing down. They rushed 4 and got pressure. They play very physical within that 5 yard cushion. Incredible press, man coverage. They are playing defense like it should be played nowadays.

I hope someone figures them out but they just put a beat down on one of the top 5 offenses in the league.

The Hags defense is awesome. Kind of reminds me of the Crows defense of the 90s.

The hawks look very impressive. But, the season is early. Injuries can change things in a hurry.

Carrol has his team ready to play. They handled GB without any problem. Tomlin can't do that.

Yea ok...

I am pretty sure that any coach would be able to successfully coach a team laden with Pro Bowl talent on both sides of the ball...

This. Playing on Thursday night, at home, after a SB run the year before= big win. However GB looked like they didn't even want to be there. Rodgers never even looked Sherman's way. So the defense had an easy night. If you're a HOF QB you go at Sherman. Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

Dominating Oline and Dline, the rest takes care of itself when you win it in the trenches

Poor Eddie Lacy - 12 carries - 34 yds - concussed
