Man you guys are slipping... I was waiting for a 100 page Shazier is a bust thread.

Anyways i think this guy needs a position change. Either he has the worst luck in NFL history or his body just can't handle playing LB. I would like to see him in more of a roaming position to see if that helps or not. He has shown flashes of being good, but hard to say since he can't stay healthy for more than a couple weeks.

A concussion is a concussion, it could happen to any player on the field.

Can you describe roaming position and I'm not being a dick about it. I think you are maybe referring to Polamalu. He would play near the line and flash pressure (a call) or back into coverage. Now while Shazier has speed Polamalu instincts were one of a kind. I think this is a well he can't catch maybe he can play DB.

Looked like the ability to pressure/contain Wilson dropped off without him.

SS would be the way to go. With his speed and tackling ability he would be as asset. He also can blitz well. That's what I would do. Resign Spence.

It would be like a hybrid S / LB. We get tore up in the middle of the field and i think Shaz would be good to cover that spot. Only thing i would worry about is becoming more vulnerable to the run.

I realize concussions can happen to any player, but so can all the other 50 injuries he has had. When they keep happening to the same player it seems more than a coincidence.

He has just been hurt a lot. A move to SS would prob allow him to be hit hard less, and yet still utilize his tackling, speed and good hands. He would be an asset as a SS.

He was hurt on a kickoff

I agree on the middle of the field. We're ****** with a capital F in the middle of the field. Just ask any TE around the league. That **** is getting old

Shazier threads can now been seen under the M*A*S*H thread.

I put something on the Wig Hates Stuff twitter feed...

"Ryan Shazier, I wanted to sign your contract extension but my pen broke. I'll get another one. Crap, it broke too. Here's another - DARN!"

I have been calling for him to move to Safety since the draft.

Agree with you Sask. Polamalu was a once in a life time type player. Shazier has the size and maybe the speed as Troy. But those instincts and play making ability is something else

Why exactly are you people pushing for him to move, solely the injury part of it? I can't remember ever seeing these coverage skills that everyone is so certain he has. Maybe I missed it, but what he ever shown for us in coverage ?

For me part off it is injury problems, part is we can't cover TEs or mid field, part is Shazier seems to have problems fighting through our around people, and part is based on potential.

I think shazier is better suited with open space around him. He has flashed potential here and there, but simply can't stay on the field. I think his cover skills can and will improve with more experience, but his raw talent should be put to better use.

I wouldn't put Shazier who seems fragile on STs, I would start with that.....

Does anybody realize the irony of this thread title?

Bob Sanders sure kept himself safe at SS.

Shazier's a plus run defender and a poor coverage LB. No way he's moved to SS.

I agree with this. I've never understood the need for people to want to move almost every DB or small LB to safety. Everybody can't play safety and no way can Shazier play safety when he can't cover at ILB. Most smaller players play better in space. But the offense's job is to make sure you don't have that space. Also Shazier plays the run well in space... he doesn't cover well in space. Putting him at safety would be a disaster.

Bullshit...head injury or not it does NOT change the fact that he is hurt more the he's on the field. And he can't hurt anyone if he can't play.

He's never played safety that I know of, so moving him weakens two positions in all likelihood. Keep him off of special teams and then let him play when he's healthy. If he continues to be injured then you make a decision about keeping him on the roster when those decisions are made in the off season or training camp. I don't see moving him being an option that makes any kind of sense.
