It seems as if things are setting up where both Colbert and Tomlin are going to jump ship once Ben retires.

2022 is going to be an interesting year/season.

On the surface it does look like this will happen. Colbert has had his misses, but also has helped assemble the second best team in the league since he was hired. There is no threat for him to be replaced, so taking this approach is something he can do. I'm more interested to see if the Steelers plan to groom his replacement or go outside of the organization.

Is Omar Kahn still with them?

He was a hot commodity around the league for awhile, but not so much recently.

Should have went after Andy Weidl. KC is way overrated as a talent evaluator. He ain't no Bill Polian.

I see Colbert hanging around until he is job tired. Which might not be too long away being on a year to year basis. I tend to think he would retire before pursuing another NFL gig.

Colbert isn't the problem IMHO. He finds the type of players the HC wants. Tomlin wants faster LBs so he finds them. He doesn't like hard to move tree stumps at NG so Colbert find a more agile NG ETC.. Colbert does a good job of finding what the coach wants. Which is why both Tomlin and Cowher were able to work with him so well and also why you can see the difference in personnel with the same GM.
