The handwriting is on the wall, Washington will release Dwayne Haskins. Overall 15th player selected in the 2019 draft (3rd QB behind Murray and Jones), do the Steelers need to enquire?

I think it is a little early to pull the plug on him. That franchise is a mess.

I'd kick the tires. Never underestimate the impact a horrible team can have on an otherwise good QB. That being said, he hasn't showed anything to make me believe he could be great, but I just think you can't toss out a QB based on his struggles on a bad team.

No. And they don't need to inquire, either.

I doubt he goes anywhere. He is still on a cheap contract. Rivera just sees that the NFC east is winnable NOW and Haskins isn't their best shot right NOW.

I would let Smith start see if he can regain his form and let haskins learn. I think he has some potential, but is extremely raw at this point

as others said, still on rookie contract, he is cheap. MR is our back up and hier apparent. like it or not

Rudolf is also way ahead in game ready, so why step backwards ? HELL Duck is ahead as well.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but before Rudolph was crushed and injured, he actually wasn't playing terribly. He was very accurate, he just wasn't pushing the ball downfield much. At one point I think he was completing near 80% of his passes, again, mostly short stuff. I am not prepared to say Rudolph isn't a viable backup option, although I don't know that I see his ceiling quite high enough to make me comfortable with him as a long-term starter.

I was driving to work yesterday and some guy on ESPN radio was saying there was a rumor that had Haskins going to the Steelers for Justin Layne and a 4th round pick.

**** that. dont listen to ESPN radio.

That came from Bill Barnwell suggesting a trade scenario then it morphed into a trade rumor.

Typical talking heads, feed one another. I'd think if two heads partnered up, one being from one publication and the other from a completely different source......... could stir in falsism quite easily.

Haskins sucks as a starter. He's a back up type. Not a good runner or passer, and guy looking out for his own stats. The Washington locker room doesn't like him, I felt Haskins was over rated in the draft process. Given the amount of young QB's doing well and showing promise, I can't see one QB needy team that would offer even a 2nd round pick for him.

We already have Mason.....and Dobbs.
