Former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch and nose tackle Chris Hoke have been hired to the team’s 2015 KDKA-TV’s programming roster, it was announced today.

Batch will be the color analyst and co-host the pre- and post-game shows for the Steelers’ 2015 preseason broadcasts on KDKA-TV.

The 2015 preseason will mark Batch’s first year as the network’s preseason color analyst, replacing former Steelers defensive lineman Edmund Nelson who has decided to retire from his duties at KDKA-TV. Batch joins veteran play-by-play caller Bob Pompeani in the TV booth.

Batch will also co-host the team’s regular-season pre-game show with Pompeani, in addition to his duties as the Steelers Radio Network post-game show co-host.

Batch spent 11 years (2002-12) as a Steelers’ quarterback after his first four seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions (1998-2001). In his NFL career, the Eastern Michigan product started 55-of-81 games played and threw for 11,085 yards with 61 touchdowns and 52 interceptions.

Hoke will co-host the team’s regular-season post-game show on KDKA-TV. He played his entire 11-year NFL career with Pittsburgh from 2001-11, playing in 114 regular-season games and helped the Steelers capture two Super Bowl titles (XL and XLIII) in three championship game appearances.

Most important for me is Charlie Batch staying on as the radio post game analyst, he was awesome last year not afraid to call people out if needed.
For pre-season TV frankly Edmund needed to go, yeah it's "just preseason" but he added nothing to the broadcast. I'm expecting Charlie to be very good, maybe a bit sloppy in his first pre-season but next year he should be excellent.
Can't remember if he already did analysis for ,local college team?

Hopefully sans Gregg Henson. That guy is ******* awful.

Charlie is very solid and takes a balanced approach with his analysis. Hopefully he is able to maintain his professionalism and isn't forced into a certain role during the broadcasts.

The guy from the Muppet News Flash would've been better than Edmund Nelson

I like Charlie's demeanor and candidness,,,,especially when some asshat calls in on the post-game and has it all wrong. Hokie is cool too...funny.

Edmund was sort of our version of Emmitt Smiff but I liked him.
