It's not conflicting documention. The Wikipedia statement isn't sourced. Wouldn't matter because Tomlin flat out said in his statement released on the team website that Porter's contract would not be renewed.

It does matter because there is enough out there that says otherwise and yes it is conflicting.


I think Tomlin's verbiage was just a way of wording it nicely.

Coaches are always "fired" when teams let their contracts run out. When is the last time the Steelers have got rid of a coach under contract? It's been quite awhile.
 
Looks like Tomlin will be adding a new WR coach as well, at some point.

I'd say that Hines' stilted relationship with Ben would play a bigger factor. Remember when Hines questioned Ben's toughness after Ben was not deemed able to go because of a concussion. And, also remember that Hines questioned Ben's leadership skills last Summer when the whole AB **** was going on.

Naw, not laying fault at Ben's feet. In both instances it would have been better for the team if Hines had kept his gum snappers closed.
