You probably heard the term floor and ceiling when draftniks speak about prospects. It's a pretty simple and just means some players are very safe while others might have great potential. Here are my "safe" picks for each position.

QB-

Jared Goff QB Cal
The only negative I see with him is the fact he played in a shot gun offense. He has a smooth throwing motion, nice arm, good accuracy, NFL body, played against top competion and the most important when choosing a QB with high football IQ.

Connor Cook QB Michigan State
Yes, Cook. I feel his floor is a quality back up but most likely a quality starter. He's not going to be the next Brett Favre but I could see him being the next Ryan Fitzpatrick. He has good size, athleticism, can make all the throws, understands football and has progressed every season. I think a QB coach could help with some of his throwing motion problems but all in all I feel he has NFL starter written all over him.

Cody Kessler QB USC
I know this is way off the radar but watching Kessler he has "it". Maybe the most natural passer in this draft and in my opinion the highest football IQ in the entire draft regardless of position. His limitations are he is only a tick over 6-1. Doesn't have a huge arm. But he has as good of an arm as Drew Brees and is way taller than Brees and Russell Wilson. I feel Kessler at the very least becomes a ten year veteran and maybe bounces around the NFL as a backup but if he gets a shot I feel he has the potential to stick as the starter. He has a feel for the game and checks down his receivers and will come back to a receiver even if they aren't open the first time. He isn't a great athlete but keeps a play alive with his feet and has that internal clock and ability to feel pressure in the pocket.

RB-

Ezekial Elliot RB OSU
Has the highest floor and ceiling out of any RB and in my opinion is the safety pick in the draft. I just don't see a scenario besides injury or being drafted by the Browns that doesn't allow him to succeed in the NFL.

Paul Perkins RB UCLA
Might not have an NFL body but he has elite feet, great vision, better than average hands, and good speed. If he can pass protect he's an every down back but probably won't be able to take the beating a back takes year in and out. I feel he will have huge years when he stays healthy but he might have some dings and bruises that keep him on the sidelines now and again. But if you look at his collegiate career he never really seemed to get too banged up. So that is why he's this high.

Kenneth Dixon LA Tech
Good vision, single cut north and south runner who can catch out of the backfield. He's not flashy but I feel if he was given the opportunity to start he'd have multiple thousand yard seasons. Remind me of Chris Ivory.

WR-

Laquon Treadwell WR Mississippi
This is a pretty weak WR class in my opinion. Treadwell seems to have all the skills you look with size, speed, hands, route tree, and football IQ.

The rest later

I am not sure there is a safe QB the rate they tend to bust out. Seems like for every good one there is five sucky ones who follow suit.

Cody Kessler is greater than Laundry Jones. Where will kessler be drafted? Any chance of 4th rnd or later? Would he be a good back up to BR and maybe the transitional QB till we land our next franchise QB???
