Looking for advice. I am wanting to take the wife and kids to a game at Heinz Field. I have never been to Pittsburgh. It's something we have talked about for a long time but considering circumstances, it's time to quit putting it off and make it happen. Where should I try to stay that is close to the stadium? Being from a small town in Illinois I know nothing about Pittsburgh. Where's the best place to look for tickets? I will be looking to buy 4 tickets for a Sunday afternoon game. Cheryl, any guidance you have would be awesome. Thanks everyone.

Spring Hill Suites is right out side PNC Park, and another Hotel close by, a Marriott I believe. Tickets go on sale June 13th. Try Steelers Ticket Exchange.

Hyatt Place I think is the other one close on the Nor' Side. Heinz Field and PNC Park are both on the Nor' Side. Any of the Dahntahn hotels in the Golden Triangle are easily walkable, the Wyndham Grand is the closest, the Omni William Penn, Fairmont, Renaissance, and two Marriott's. Sheraton Station Square and you and the kiddies can ride the boat across the river to the stadium.

Well the guys and gals on here will give you good advice on things. I hope you have a really good time and get good seats.:herewego:

The hotels mentioned. But any downtown hotels are just a short subway ride away. Don't be shy, check out Dom's tailgate, where you may run into SN luminaries.

I stayed at the Hyatt Place for the Bengals game this past year. I have also stayed at the Springhill Suites in the past. All are walking distance to the game and good places to eat. I can remember the first time I drove in from the airport and how confusing all of the bridges and roads were. If you stay at the 2 hotels I mentioned you can park your car for the weekend. It will relieve a little stress not having to drive anywhere. Then maybe next time you come you will have a better feel of the area. I have been coming to a game per year for the last 15 and I still usually stay close to the stadium for the no stress approach on game day. But I do like to go out and see other parts of the city. Just a opinion from another out of towner.

Has anyone looked into Air BnB for downtown PGH?

My 'rents still live in the burgh, but I would be interested to see what kinda place you could get downtown.

I did this a few years ago with my son, stayed at the Omni William Penn. Hopefully you can get there a few days earlier as I did to walk around and feel this great city. A real highlight for game day was walking to the game over the Roberto Clemente Bridge with thousands of fans streaming to the game.

Booked the hotel on Hotwire got it for under 100$ have done that a few times and got lucky. The Marriott is one of their mystery hotels along with the rennaissance . I think I will try to go to a game as well if time and $$$ permits,

I stayed there back when Mean Joe and Emmitt Smith was with the Cardinals. The Cardinals stayed there which was pretty cool. The William Penn has that old school style.

I just looked up when i went. NY Jets game 2004. Man time flies. I paid 71.00$, what a deal. Then they upgraded my son and i to a suite, that was sweet!
Greatest live sporting experience of my life. Coming all the way from Vancouver it was a dream come true, and i would love to do it again. What a vibe in the city on game day.

I stayed at the Wyndham when i went to the ravens game in 2012. Easy walk to the stadium. Most major hotels run shuttles to the airport too.

Go early. Hit Dom's tailgate. Get into stadium before game and see the Great Hall.
It's a blast! enjoy....

The North Side hotels near the stadium bok early and are pricey. So look into it now.

Took my family last year stayed at the courtyard Marriott. It was great. Walking distance across the bridge to stadium, lots of buzz on GameDay plenty of food choices in walking distance. Best advice I can give is pick a college weekend. Two trips to the stadium and don't cheap on the tix. You only live once. Cheryl is a good source. We took the kids to Carnegie Science centre. It was fun. Don't rent a car. Cab was cheap from airport and there is plenty to do in walking distance. Gorgeous downtown and I've seen a few cities.
