Best guess on the 53 man roster
Offense: 24
QB, ( 3 ) Ben, Gradkoski, Jones
RB: ( 4 ) Bell, Williams, Archer, Johnson,
WR: ( 5 ) Brown, Bryant, Wheaton, Coates, Heyward-Bey
TE: ( 3 ) Miller, Spaeth, James
OL: ( 9 ) Beachum, Foster, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert, Wallace, Adams, Villanueva, Hubbard
Defense: 26
DL: ( 6 ) Heyward, McClendon, Tuitt, C. Thomas, McCullers, Walton
LB: ( 10 ) Moats, Shazier Timmons, Harrison J. Jones, Dupreee, Williams, Spence, Chickillo, Garvin
DB: ( 10 ) Gay, Mitchell, Thomas, C. Allen, Blake, Boykin, Grant, W Allen, Golden, Wild* Ventrone over Wild If he’s healthy
Special Teams: 3
K: Hartley
P; Wing
LS: Warren

I would keep two QB’s if Gradkowski is 100% healthy, than stick Jones on the practice squad. Landry Jones makes the team again.
The Steelers could keep two TE’s, and ask Villanueva to be a swing man if there is another good player out there on defense, then move James to the practice squad. James is a weak #3 based on his play to date. This would save a roster spot for someone else.
The 6th defensive line spot is up for grabs, and the 3-4 ends have the best shots to make it. While I think Walton has more upside than Kruger, he might have less game day value right now simply because he’s a rookie. Conrath was with the team in 2014, and had our lone sack. This battle is very much open.
Zumwalt looks good in 1st pre-season game and is they type of guy you want on the team.
Wild has looked good as of late, but if Ventrone is healthy he’s the special teams ace.
I’m not sold on Archer making this team unless he wins a kickoff return or punt return job. Doe ( who is very strong for his size ) is a much better punt return man, and possibly a better kick off return man might win that job. Brown has too much value to risk him for punt returns. Archer can’t field punts cleanly.
Harris to be on the team as a RB once the season starts, but cut when Bell returns.
