Move Villanueva to right tackle?

Most of the pressures given up by the big guy have come on stunt pickups. To get better at those recognition comes with playing time. The more he plays the better he will get.

Giving up two sacks one apiece to Tamba Ali and Aldon Smith is no reason too move everyone around. He is comfortable at LT and Gilbert is comfortable at RT. The more he plays the better he will be at stunt pickups.

I think Smith averages over a sack per game so the sack where Ben tried to get outside when Villanueva had his back to Ben but Smith could see where Ben was trying to go was not his fault. Ben should have just thrown the damn ball away. It was an unfortunate chain of events but I do not blame out LT and really don't blame Ben. He tried to extend the play to make a big play and he has done that many of times but with the lead and against the Raiders I say just be smart with the ball and your body.

Smith? Do you mean Beachum? Beachum I think gives up 7 or so sacks a year. He's a solid pass protector. Thia year Beachum was off to a bad start, then got hurt.

Villanueva played well. If Ben could move out of his own way even the slightest bit faster then a wet fart maybe he doesn't get rolled up on.

You take the good with the bad with Ben. A play is never over, but sometimes it bites him in the daiper.

When Brown catches 17 balls for 284 yards, overall pass protection is OK.

Brown really needs Ben. He's not very big or a burner type. He's ultra-quick with great hands and runs great routes with RAC ability. When Ben is out, AB's game takes a huge step backward.

No he means Aldon Smith, the guy that sacked Ben.

Actually Brown just needs a QB that can get him the ball on time and allow him to do what he does best.

Brown with Vick: 6 catches on 13 targets for 46 yards

Brown with Jones: 9 catches on 12 targets for 218 yards

Gilbert has been responsible for zero sacks this year (The Steelers have given up 22) and over the past 3 games he has stoned Khalil Mack, Justin Houston and Carlos Dunlap. Why would the Steelers move him from RT to anywhere else on the line or to the bench? Moving him would potentially make two positions weaker, RT and the position to which he is moved.

ALDON SMITH. He averages a sack per game as an elite pass rusher. So our back up LT giving up a sack to him when our QB is scrambling is a non-issue in my book.

Thankfully we have Munchak's opinion to rely on.
Exactly. Coach is looking for a job on the team - obviously...
Villanueva is our LT. He's also our LT of the future. His size is beyond what you want out of a LT. He's a mountain, and moves well for his size. His length envelopes rushers. Mark my words, he's our starting LT moving forward.

He's an undrafted player, playing a position he's just learned the past 2 years, and he's holding his own. When he gets it down, no one is going to get past him.

ARMY STRONG!
That gave me goose bumps.

ARMY STRONG!!!

when is Adams expected to be ready? He can come in as a TE, line up next to Villanueva or Gilbert and help on the line.

No. They should think about moving Brown to TE. Heath dropped a few passes in the last couple games.

With Ben out of the alignment, Heath will be used more in pass coverage. Jones is a rookie as a starting QB and needs the extra protection. With time Jones will get better. I would rather have Ben in there but we have to take what we get. Gilbert is doing well after taking some fate off and adding agility. The question at start of next season is what to do with Beachum, Adams, and Villaneuva
