This is arguably the most important draft of the last 10 years for the Steelers as it will determine if Ben/the Steelers can get to one more Super Bowl. We need at least 1 solid starter on offense and defense and realistically a #1-level receiver and 90+ tackle ILB. I think Devin Bush in Round 1 and Riley Ridley in 2 gives us the best chance of this. Thoughts?

SB? We just missed the playoffs and you want to talk about one more SB run

I have a lot of mixed feelings on Ridley. Slow 40, statistics not impressive minus his TD production final year.

I realise G-men were heavy run. And then we have those drops a lot earlier in 16 -17.

He improved in 18 in that area, but still doesn't erase the question mark.

For me he is a round 4 prospect, And that is where I would take him.

Colbert's and Tomlin's jobs should be riding on this but they probably won't be. They do a good job of drafting offense, defense no so much.

As long as Tomlin is here the Super Bowl is a non starter.
Performance with the best offensive talent in the league is below the line, if you will, obviously. Winning three playoff games in the last 8 years is not acceptable.

I wouldn't say this is the most important draft. The 2016 draft was important as was the 2013 draft. Burns and Jones were busts leaving the team with a hole on the roster for years. They still haven't completely fixed the OLB spot and with Haden and Nelson, the Steelers may finally have a legitimate starting duo at cornerback.

Not defending him, because I too have reservations...But, he has been to 2, so Non-starter comment doesn't make sense.

Plus, he is GOING to be our coach. The negative energy throws that into the universe and attracts it.

I would rather focus on what he does right and also believe in STEELER KARMA.

We WILL go to the SB in spite of all the odds against us. We still got a real, real good squad, who has a chip on their shoulder, with everything to prove... Let's focus our thoughts and energy there for a change

That is the story we need to be telling

I think their OC and Big Ben can help this team get far, I just don't know on the defensive side of the ball if the coaches are smart enough to put the players in the best position to win.

Some notable upgrades this year, and with a shitload of picks

little room for excuses if they don't right?

Every draft is important if you want to be a consistent playoff team with a chance to win the SB. Obviously when we have been successful we have drafted well. You can be Vince Lombardi but if you don't have the players you aren't going to win. He proved that in Washington. Drafting is like football in general, sometimes you need to be a little lucky. Last year was not our lucky year for sure. How about the Saints, talking about being unlucky two years in a row! We will be right there at the end fighting for the division if like any team we can avoid major injuries. Depth is so very, very important

That's what grinds my balls, that they didn't address the defensive shortcomings after the season. Firing Porter wasn't enough. A lot more coaches including Butler needed to be sent packing. Even if they make good draft picks on defense, and that's a big IF, rookies rarely make an impact anyway.
Tombert's draft busts, Worilds, Jones, and Durpee, have ****** us for years.
I would absolutely not give Shades an extension until or unless he gets to the Super Bowl and if that means he's free to walk then he's free to walk.

I have no problem "defending" the HC and Mr. Colbert.

No team in the league is perfect and still, the Steelers compete thru the adversity of injury, player holdouts, bad results from terrible refereeing, and the list goes on...

I make no excuse for the overall results from last season. We didn't make the playoffs. Suck it up and drive on.

This team will be under the microscope every week this year due to the negative light that Mr. Big Chest and Leveon Bell. I remain faithful and hopeful that we will succeed and get to the Promised Land again.

Think the media will stop talking about those two clowns by midseason?

If we had 2017 Boswell last year and refs didn't blow a few calls we were in the 11-3 range in 2018. Steelers have done a better job in
free agency this off season. Have a solid draft and we are as good as anybody in AFC.

Depends on when (schedule wise) we beat the **** out of the jets..............

Salute the nation

We play the AFC East this year - I'm not mad at that. We have the 12th ranked hardest schedule in the league if that means anything...

How do we end up playing the Pats****** three years in a row?

We won the division and they won their division. All division leaders play the following year.

and it figures the year we don't win the division along with them is the year we play that division.

This draft must do the following to win another championship.

I think we can find a decent receiver in the draft. History shows the Steelers can do this in rounds two or three. Or in round one. While losing AB for peanuts really sucked we can find a piece for the puzzle at receiver in this draft. Ben makes receivers great, they aren't; as good when they move on from the Steelers. Next year we don't have AB's cap number.

I tend to think we can find better inside linebackers in the draft. Amdititly the bar is low. Barron will likely give us a good nickel and dime guy. A draft pick in rounds 1-4 could yield a starter here after all his competition is Williams.

What I'm most cerian of is this defensive backfield in black and gold sucks. Only one man can cover well and as a group they a very low amount of turnovers. To obtain a good DB, you either need to pay big bucks, beyond what Nelson fetched or pick one early in the draft. The way corners go, I'd guess about 7 to 8 of them will be off the board before the Steelers pick in round two. This means if we want a guy that makes an impact in 2019, he should be selected in round one because by round two, you're looking at a sub package type of player more often than not.

Give me Greedy Williams. The man offers a limited cushion, doesn't have a lot of passing yard against and has the height and speed to be a lockdown type. Eleitle level ball skills with the anticipation to jump the route. I don't care so much if he might blow a tackle or two, at the end of the day even a blown tackle + his yards surrendered in coverage should big-time improvement from what we have been used to.

I could live with Baker. Solid guy, maybe not exceptional, but we can depend on him.

Pass on Murphy. I don't trust his speed and think his limited amount of games played and competition in the Pac 12 are red flags.

Greedy has red flags, sorry to interupt your agenda. I know I know you are in love with his 40, I doubt you even watched past 5 minutes of youtube highlights.

You don't select players on who you think will have the greatest impact this year, you draft the highest BPA on your board.

Besides Nelson was brought aboard to not have to reach on a corner.

BTW you love to diss you some Steelers, perhaps we think you suck.
