I'm OK with Safety round one the same way that I am with edge rush so long as the guy can play immediately in sub packages as a slot cover guy. Mike Mitchell can still play at a high level. We need a guy who improves coverage and a guy that can rush the passer NOW with at least one of them having great/star player potential. I don't really care about the who or the how after that.

Here is mine:

Round 1 (30) Budda Baker, FS, Washington-I really like Awuzie and I went back and forth with this, but the future of Baker at FS paired with Davis, two smart coverage safeties, was just too great for me to take Awuzie. I mean, I think he will be a good corner, but I also think I can get a good corner later.
Round 2 (62) Carl Lawson, OLB, Auburn-I'd take Lawson here all day long. The only other consideration for me would be Gerald Everett.
Round 3 (94) Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama-like Tpassognon, but Everett is a borderline first round pick in THIS draft, in a lesser draft, he would be top 20.
Round 3 (105) Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee-another guy that can probably play inside or outside. I think he should be early 3rd at worst. (would also consider Rasul Douglas here).
Round 4 (135) Mack Hollins, WR, UNC-while Douglas is an excellent selection, I have a feeling that this round is a WR pick. I think they like Hollins.
Round 5 (173) Rayshawn Jenkins, FS, Miami-played with Burns, big FS that can cover and has enough man coverage ability to walk down on big TEs.
Round 6 (213) Elijah Hood, RB, UNC
Round 7 (248) Glen Antoine, NT, Idaho.

TMC I'm good with the board but are you comfortable with the gamble of Fitz Touisant at running back over rolling the dice with Green (injury prone), James (can start), Grimble (capable backup). I wouldn't mind finding a quality young back in round three. I do like completing a unit (safties) especially because you feel that Baker is position (Nickle corner ) flexible.

1. Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
2. Marcus Maye, S, Florida
3.a. Tanoh Kpassognon, DE, Villanova
3.b. Vince Biegel, OLB, Wisconsin
4. James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh
5. Ryan Switzer, WR, North Carolina
6. Javancey Jones, LB, Jackson State
7. Stevie Tu'ikolavatu, DT, USC

1 Takkarist McKinley,
2 Chris Godwin
3 Tanoh Kpassagnon
3b Wayne Gallman,
4 Rasul Douglas
5 Rayshawn Jenkins
6 Eric Saubert
7 Stevie Tu'ikolavatu

If the board fell that way...

1 ) CB Chide Awuzie - An upside corner who can play both the slot and the outside. Decent size, excellent speed and quickness!
2 ) S Justin Evans - A value pick. Good speed, good ball skills ( something our safeties lack ) and can hit. There's a lot to like
3 ) OLB / Edge Trey Hendrickson - Impressed me a the college all star games. Quick off the ball and has a good motor.
3B ) OLB / Nickel Elijah Lee. A 3 down type of linebacker, Lee can rush the passer, drop back in coverage and is rather rangy
4 ) RB Kareem Hunt - Good value for a back up RB.
5 ) S. Rayshawn Jenkins - A development guy, but you have to love the upside. Needs better coaching
6 ) ILB / Nickel Anthony Walker - A value pick.
7 ) CB Howard Wilson - I think he would be a bit of a steal this late.

This is the type of draft that is needed to beat the better QB's in the playoffs, as it upgrades the pass coverage and the pass rush. Doubling down at corner, safety, and Edge rushers.

No, I'm not comfortable, but I think the Steelers are pretty high on Elijah Hood. Just a feeling I have. I think they really like him and Mack Collins. I also know that Williams has left the door open, so I would bring him back. In my mock, I took Everett and Hood.
