By Jess Costello SteelerNation.com The Pittsburgh Steelers’ off-season workouts are in full swing and cornerback, Mike Hilton is participating in all of them. Although taking part in the workouts, Hilton is still hoping to sign a contract for the 2019 season. ESPN.com’s Jeremy Fowler, reported earlier in the off-season that Hilton wouldn’t sign the $645,000 […]

I don't care about his size, Mike Hilton is a player. Great blitzer, tackler and good in coverage. On a team that's been sub-par in the tackling department (can't believe we can say that about the Pittsburgh Steelers), he's been one of the exceptions.

Dude is taking a chance at injury. Must not have many other offers...Sign the damn contract dude. I guess $645,000 is pittance for what they do. But man that's 5 years work for me. If Hilton can't find a job elsewhere, it is still more than most of us will ever see....

You want to be here, sign the damn contract

He is showing good faith by still being in camp. I have no problem with his approach in wanting a new contract.

He is tendered. He won't be getting other offers. Possible, but unlikely. There has to be a mid ground here. This is the type of player you want from a sub package skill level and culture change.

He's got a good attitude about it. Unfortunately this is what the players bargained for. He has zero leverage here besides holding out. I'm not sure if you want to sign him long term. I like what we have on the roster in Haden, Nelson, Layne and Sutton in addition to Hilton.

He needs to be in camp or he won't be on the team. As much as I really liked him in his first 2 years, last year, he got exposed by TE's and bigger WR's. He is so small, I am not sure it is something he can overcome. I think they will or already have offered him a respectable contract. He certainly isn't going to break the bank and shouldn't. Hopefully he remains as a Steeler and can minimize his huge exposed weakness.

His prerogative to sign or not sign. The STEELERS made him an offer and like said, his agent is negotiating. I bet they up the tender or SB, but not by much, and he signs. I like his play and character to this point but his size does come into play.

He's an ERFA. Witholding service is his only leverage.

Given the fact that they had him in about 1/2 the defensive snaps last year, clearly they believe he is a useful player.

While I can see why they wouldn't want to break the bank on a guy who's 3rd year wasn't as impressive as his first 2, I would still offer him a respectable contract given the snap count. His odds of getting hurt are high.

Course he has no leverage, so we'll see how classy these "new Steelers" are.

Based on a lack of big plays I would say it wasn't his best season. EXPOSED, that is a tad much. I thought he was still pretty damn solid last year.

Obviously the STEELERS think $645,000 is the fair offer, what do YOU think the offer should be???? Maybe a $200,000 signing bonus...... I wouldn't go overboard seeing how the new guys could squeeze him out making him depth. That is ultimately where he will end up.

Maybe 1.5M over two years????

Hilton is the anti-AB. You should have signed him already.

ANY Idea on for how much $$$$$................mine was just a guess.?

Well if he's getting 645k this year and (probably) a 3m 2nd round tender next year, roughly 2 years and 4 million would be a starting point. I dunno something like 3years 7m with a 2million dollar signing bonus?

He was playing hurt last year, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with the productivity from years 1-2 to 3.

Watch late in the season when teams started picking on him and he got benched. I'd call that EXPOSED.
