Seems to be all cash which can be made up in the first couple home games when you pack 100k fans in. They are appealing the decision but I'd say they got away pretty lucky.
No vacated wins, no bowl ban, no scholarship reductions, no postseason ban. Just a fine and double secret probation for Harbaugh and Sharrone Moore has to sit out 2 games. So essentially zero punishment.
It's like robbing a bank and only having to pay a small fine then you get to keep the stolen loot and have to weak an ankle monitor for a month.
The NCAA essentially said cheating is legal, you just need to pay a small tax.
Then they follow up with this nonsense
if you were NCAA Commissioner, what would you have done?PLUS
Michigan puts fans in the seats, boosts the tv ratings and income for NCAA sponsorship.
They don’t want to ban the cash cow to not appear and maintain said income.
My guess is,………. It is about the Money .!
Salute the nation
I think you had to punish the program in a non monitary on the field way. Money is a joke. You had to do something that had effect on the next two-five years. I think other programs have been put in jail.if you were NCAA Commissioner, what would you have done?
