Meanwhile, in Stainland....

And here I was hoping he'd scamper for a TD then pull a woman out of the stands and do blow off her left buttcheek in the end zone to celebrate... soooo disappointing...

I do not believe the kid will be anything close to becoming a franchise QB...

Watched him last night....made a couple plays with his legs, had very happy feet in the pocket, and looks like he has an average arm at best...

I think they got another Brady Quinn.....with wheels..

He made a couple decent throws but he has happy feet. He throws off his back foot a lot and his mechanics are horrible. His decision making is the same as it was in college. He had a FB in the flat wide open. He needs one yard for a first down. Does he make the easy throw that can get a 1st down and maybe more? Nope... he holds the ball so long that the FB finally gets covered and he runs for his life out of bounds. He got the first down but he gave away 3-8 yards by not throwing the ball to his main target.

Sounds like they were expecting 400 yards and 6 TD's. Any time the media anoints a rookie player as God, there is nowhere to go but down unfortunately for that player. It's like when Regie Bush came into the league. The only way he could have lived up to that hype to get 200 yards rushing and 100 receiving every single game. It sounded like they were gonna have to change the name of the league to the RBFL judging from the draft hype.

Johnny Hypeball, catch phrase. You heard it here 1,836th!!!!

Salute the nation

eventually, guys like him are gonna excel in the nfl...with all the rule changes and ****, they will be the best in flag football...

Fantasy football know it all says Johnny FB is ready to make his mark on the fantasy FB scene.....Jesus help us all. Who the **** does he have to throw to? If it ain't Jerry Rice, Antonio Brown, and Gronkowski then ol happy feet is not going to have a bunch of TDs this year. That is if he even starts. Yahoo fantasy, get a clue.....

Running QBs can suck and still score big points. That's because many fantasy league give 1 point per 20 or 25 yards passing and 4 points per passing TD. They give 1 point per 10 rushing and 6 points per rushing TD.

By those rules
300 passing, 2 passing TD = 23 points
200 pass, 50 rush, 0 pass TD, 1 rush TD = 22 points

That shows you that a rushing QB can have a ****** game and still score as much as pocket passer who has a great game.

Unfortunately, this bleeds over into reality and and you have RG3 beating Luck for rookie of the year when RG3 was not even close to as good. It also leads to multiple teams thinking Vick is the answer at QB.

johnny CoxxVille is gonna get killed if he starts in Pittsburgh....he's gonna get Jadaveon Clowney's by either Timmon, TP, Mitchell, Jones or Carnell Lake...oops I meant Spence/Shazier combo

This is very misleading- I agree that fantasy football is influencing much of the NFL, but RG3 flat out beat Luck their rookie years:

RG3- 65%, 20TD's vs 5 Ints
Luck- 54%, 23TD's vs 18 Ints,

The Luck hype machine is faaar worse than the FF QB's... You got people already putting him in the top 5, yet his completion rate barely reaches the 60's

If we are being honest with ourselves- there is little chance we see Johnny opening day.

Pettine has to know Dick's record against rookie's- there is no reason for him to get his hype machine embarrassed in his debut.

Watched it on replay....if his primary is covered, he scampers. I think I saw once or twice where he made it to a second read before running.

Say it isn't so. I want to be watching the game when Johnny get "welcomed" to the NFL with a big hit.

I agree with Vader to a point. His mechanics are aweful and his footwork is horrid. The Cleveland Browns dont have the coaching staff to fix his issues and he will be another Tim Tebow and yet one more #2 Jersey that a CLeveland Brown fan will have to recycle. With that being said, His impatience, Happy feet, and mis-reads are all a part of being a rookie QB and no one should really expect any different. The Browns should reduce the playbook to plays that Johnny is comfortable with and fit his style of play. No more than two reads should be given to him and one of those better be a damn check down throw. The Browns also need to let him do his thing and let him run if need be. Trying to make him a pocket passer is NEVER going to work. The only difference between Johnny and Doug Flutie is a few inches in height and Doug had solid mechanics (for the 1980s)

Agreed! RG3 had a very good rookie year. This year will tell a lot about RG3. This is actually the first year where he will have had all the mini camps, plus a full training camp. Last year might have been good for him long term. A little adversity, and some humble pie can be a good thing.

The Luck hype is a bit much. He's likely going to be great, but the hype over his playoff comeback conveniently overlooked the fact that it was his crappy play early that put the team in a big hole.

The Real Deal Johnny Manziel is the last thing Steeler Nation needs to be worrying about. I'd be more concerned about the same old **** that was on display Saturday night.

oh good goddamn. this ************ is back?
