Matt Feiler to start at RT for the Browns game

less 5 wide unless Washington and switzer are hot routes for slants or bubble screens and we goptta have james or grimble pinching so more 4 wide 1 rb or 3 wr 1 te 1 rb sets. empty only if matt is showing he can hold his down vs those 2 scary rushers.

All players develop at different speeds. Is anyone surprised Chuks is taking longer being he has almost 0 technique and is all talent? Give him until next year to see where he and Feiler fall on the depth chart.

This is just a thread for Coach to **** on the Chukes pick.

Sorry man, the team loves Chukes as the extra tackle. That's why he's not given a seat on game days. Chukes is killing it there.

I think this is more about Feiler than it is about Chukes. Feiler has been here for a few years, knows the system, and is now a 5 position backup. That's pretty damn amazing. I'd expect Chukes to start at tackle next year if needed, but this year the team is more comfortable with what Feiler is doing. That surprises me as well, but since he played well in his last start, I can't fault the coaching decision.

Chucks was very shaky in the pre-season vs 2nd and 3rd string players. In the draft process, he didn't run or lift well, nor was he good on agility. The competition he faced in college was on the weak side. Mayock, who seems to like just about everyone panned the pick.

Have any of the Steelers coaches specially said what they like about his game?

The Steelers had, apparently, been watching him throughout the year. Presumably, that includes Munchak since he would be his position coach. It isnt like sorted their spreadsheet by position and took a guy with a cool name. They knew his combine results did not match his play.

Since Fieler has been on the PS/team for couple years (maybe just over a year) and we all know how much they appreciate "knowing then system " this move zhould be unsurprising.

Either one will, probably, need help over there. I'd be happy with chuks out there with him, checking in as a TE.

Are you comparing a kid that started playing football late in his life, a project, with a 1st rounder that played Safety all his college career?
And in a position where a mistake puts your most valuable player on risk of injury?

You really are dense and always pushing your own agenda. "Well I didn't like the pick" ... Like anyone here gives a flying **** about your opinion on college talent

No, I'm comparing him to other draft prospects , each of whom played plenty of college football. He's not ready. Yes-- he's a rookie, and will take some time. On the other hand those with eyes can tell you he's way behind, and didn't stand out physically the pre-season. Did you even watch him in pre-season?

We needed defense this draft. Not projects for the offense. Our #2 pick isn't trending well either...

L O L

coach you ignorant slut

Your opinion trying to make it others,

is still only your opinion..

One that you pulled out of your ***. If he was so far behind he would be deactivated game to game.

Usually the extra tackle is the best Steeler backup lineman. This year it's Chukes. He's doing an excellent job, and Feiller and Finney are not taking it from him. It's why he's active every game this season. Like I said, it says way more about Feiler's ability than Chuke's inability at this point.

OL started off pretty slow, bit kicked it in gear in the 2nd quarter.

Feiler had a pretty good game. I think he's more suited for tackle than guard.

That would be our second round pick. He's a man without a hat. This of course is Tomlin's opinion.

Now for mine Matt Feiler was solid. I only saw one play where he was badly beaten.

Game plan included a ton of chuks as extra tight end. So feiler played tackle. Makes sense. And kudos to feiler for apparently doing well. Blows the **** out of coaches dumbass opinion. ok

B&G, my opinion was to help him out if needed. The Steelers coaches thought so too. So it doesn't blow the f out of what I said, they did what I suggested.

See now that is a legitimate concern. When they deactivate you, you aren't going in the right direction.

Still too early to put a stamp on Washington, but is a slight concern.

PS: Did you get the SNL reference?

Correct.

I like old school SNL, so yes I picked up the reference. As for Jane, that used to apply to Dupree. " Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane " , but I must say I'm beginning to wonder if Dupree has figured it out as a pass rusher. A good game vs the Ravens, Patriots or Saints will help convince me that Bud has turned the corner

As for Heyward, I'm mystified. He's really having a sup-par season for his standards. Its not effort, or lack of football IQ.

On days when Tuitt and Dupree play well ( maybe 25% of the time ) the defense is much better.

And I am okay with limiting Burns role a bit. Sensabaugh is smarter, and perhaps the safer play.

Thoughts.

  1. He's a servable player, and decent as a power blocker
  2. The coaches better help him out if the Browns move Garret to his side.
  3. Okorafor could not beat him out. The 3rd round pick is on the bench.

You're full of ****.

Please see thought (if you want to call it that) #3.

Cope called it all along.

Heyward is in the backfield a decent amount of time, just not showing up on the stat sheet.

Sens is still a huge concern. As is Sutton. We will get a better feel for their progress against the cheats and saints and panthers and jaguars.

One thing is for sure, Burns is a huge liability at this point. Not sure you want to put him back on the field.

Are they using Heyward the same way they have in the past year or two when they were really trying to generate pressure with the defensive line? It seems this year, especially the last couple of weeks, they're blitzing the linebackers and defensive backs a lot.
