Martavis Bryant packs on 10lbs

Sounds like the kid might be trying to add to his game and may have a break out year. Wheaton looks like he is trying as well and this could be a scary good passing attack.

What's the chances a MOD could fix Martavis' name on the title for me? Damn auto correct did me as I opened this thread. Tried to fix it afterwards, but no joy.

Coach Shades and almost everybody else calls him "Martavius" anyway.

Hopefully he is working on his route running as well. But looks like the arrow is pointing up for the kid.

hope it was from the weight room and not McDs.

Seriously though, he will only get better and stronger the older he gets. The fact that he didn't sit on his *** in the off-season is great news. Excited to see him and this offense purr.

I think I heard somewhere that Marty B was in LA all offseason working on mma and handwork. Can I get a verify?

Lets just hope the o-line can keep Ben upright long enough to utilize all these 'weapons'....

He was also in Georgia working out with Ben and the other WRs.

We could call him dri for short..........ducking and running

Verified. He was working with Glazer at Glazer's MMA Studio. He did it last year too iirc.

nah

we don't want him on the short end of playing time

end of joke / was a short story

I think its going to be one of those situations where the cards fell just right for us to get a real star wr that low.... that was an incredibly deep draft, and not just at wr either... the few issues he had were just enough to make him an afterthought... in a shallow draft, teams might be willing to overlook the red flags and once his pure numbers are focused on, who knows how high he climbs up the draft board

Just hope he is careful. It is good to get bigger and stronger to a point for a WR. At some point you can become too big. I just remember David Boston. The guy was huge, which was great I guess, but he couldn't play WR anymore.

I don't mean to poop on everyones party for Marty (lol) but the facts are that great quarterbacks are what is required for guys like Bryant to make such a fast impact in the league. Its doubtful that he is in the position to make a lot of money like he is currently if Andy Dalton or Zach Mettenberger is his quarterback. He is in a great situation with Ben and he is likely to cash in as a result. Look at all the marginal players that have broke the bank playing with Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Manning, etc. I'm not saying the dude is terrible because he is damn good but the entire league revolves around who is under center....end of story.

Yea, AJ Green, you suck since your QB does, too.
It's unpossible to just be good by yourself.

The arrow is pointing up

It sounds like the big knock on this kid in college was his dedication and effort. Early on after being drafted he made a comment about making sure he would be more focused and hard working. Sounds like he has been backing it up with actions and deeds. There were lots of guys that were displeased with his effort and dedication level prior to the draft and some actually thinking he could fail at the next level. With anyone that has a reputation like that it is an easy leap to make. Sounds like this young man got his wake up call early and he did not hang up the phone and go back to his old ways but decided to change things for the better. Good luck MB with your career.
