Gruden is hoping for more, but that is a familiar theme.

Starts with his lack of burst from his time off and spills over to his disconnect of head and heart.

I fully expect him not to last more than a season with them. Maybe getting one more chance after that.

So I am looking at a 1 to 2 year window remaining on his career.

I love the pic in that article. Shows perfectly how wonky his hand placement is. Hands way to far apart. Has the heels of his palms toward the ball and his thumbs are no where near being close together, which you need on a 2 handed catch. Seriously, there is no way he's cracking that starting lineup with Nelson and Cooper, who are both position flexible, and hands catchers. He'll be the 4th WR on deep plays only.

Gruden likes receivers who run the whole route tree and are position flexible? Why the **** did he trade for Bryant then? Bryant can ONLY play the Z, and though his route running improved, you can't count on him to make tough catches over the middle in LB range. He only runs curls, outs, posts, corners, and flys. He can't slant or drag, just never had the stones for it.

I'm surprised we got as much production as we did out of him when he was here. He's got a lot of holes in his game, most caused by poor hand positioning. Now he's regressing. He's not given the starting spot, so he will wilt under the pressure, and turn back to his old friend to take another year off. He's not mentally tough.

Thanks for the 3rd rounder Gruden! SUCKER!!!!

Speed and size have been his only attributes, but the speed really didn't seem to be there last season. I don't think he's going to last long with Gruden either.

Nobody told me of the side affects of "poison" frogg treatment........ Whaaa hoop aaa

"He's in a competitive situation," Gruden said. "Nothing's going to be given to anybody. /Gruden

Not like in Pittsburgh last year and we just handed him the #2 WR job.

Don’t think he was handed the #2 stillwright. He only started 8 games of which a couple were due to JuJu being injured. JuJu was right behind him at the onset, but you rarely start a rookie at that spot not fully up to speed on the play book. JuJu surpassed him because of his higher drive. Juju’s play percentage when both were active shows who was the top guy behind AB.

Oh yeah lol I totally forgot about the frog stuff! Wasn't it his girlfriend that spilled the beans on that?
Man I was so stoked about the guy after his lone good season. Oh well.

Everyone was. He had Randy Moss ability with a Tinman Wizard of Oz heart.

Shame.
The guy can really be something in the nfl

Once Bryant scores a deep catch in the pre-season, Gruden will be figuring out how to get his new problem child the ball.

Or if Bryant lost his speed and focus, hahahaha.

Yea, that was kind of crap, since Hunter killed it all preseason.

Seriously...his left hand is fine but wtf is he doing with his right hand? Looks like an 8 year old ready to catch a beach ball.

Good article Cope, thanks. The STEELES gave Martavous every chance in the world to be successful but he didn't reach out and grab it. They gave him patience on the DRUG suspensions / personal "sick" days / social media flaw / lashing out / ECT. But he expected that with out payback by working harder. Instead he figured out ways to stay LAZy like durring his "OFF" year he claims to have worked out well by his appearance he did all right, just lifted weights. That was the easiest part of working out as the "SPRINT" / running work is by far the hardest part as far as receivers go. He became muscle bound as a result losing some overall speed and again caused by laziness by not putting in ALL the WORK required. Tried to find the "easy" cure (frogg injections) and finally just plain ran out of options that his laziness showed through.

The STEELERS did VERY well by obtaining and accepting the trade. I am so glad this is Gruden's problem and now NOT a continued distraction to the STEELERS. Bell has obtained the distraction title and hence when he is MOVED on the STEELERS will be better off both ON & OFF the field of play.

Martavius would do better under a "player's coach". LOL.

Great points DIC!

I think Bryant lost his favor here after his Coach mandated suspension for going to social media to throw shade at a teammate. It was the right move to bench his ***, and I think Tomlin was hoping to see someone mentally tough come back and work hard down the stretch. I know he would have been given the opportunity to regain snaps with hard work, but that wasn't the case. He shrunk, he got back with a cloud over his head, then lost his 2WR snaps to the receiver he dogged on twitter.

Even though it was the right choice to go with JuJu in 2WR sets, this was a demotion Bryant never recovered from. He thinks of himself as a top guy, but he doesn't put in the effort to be the best. I don't know how you get that mindset playing around AB, but he has it.

He has an uphill climb to get snaps in LV, and if he doesn't start working hard the next 3 weeks, he may not be on their final roster.

How did he get that mindset? Simple. Alot has to do with the liberties he and others have been given from our HC. While some will still work hard others will keep taking and pushing the envelope farther and farther at each and every opportunity. Enter Bryant's name at this point.

Most of the players in pro sports, any sport, have been superstars since high school and accordingly were often cut slack from their coaches. Mikey Cool Shades isn't any different from a high school coach in that regard.
