Love on the field.......... hate off the field...........You be the General

The “he’s not worth 40 mil” kills me.

If the goal (and standard) is to simply draft players and have them in one uniform their entire career sure pay the man for past performances…what a cool story that would be, a story of undying loyalty.

If the goal is to be relevant, win playoff games en route to a SB victory (an actual worthy standard) allocating that sort of money to an aging player for past performances is somewhere between questionable and moronic.

Just another player playing within the constraints and of the great Underachiever.

Just doesn’t make cents to pay that much for a player to be poorly deployed when said player can’t get his team over the hump of the simplest of goals…winning the first game of a potential SB run.

Again not TJ’s fault that his greatness is squandered by the ineptitude above, the situation simply doesn’t yield a winning equation

You cut out the part of my post about HAVING to spend money.
If you’re against paying watt, who are you allocating the required funds to?
There is nobody on the market, and why would we trade assets that will likely be used on a QB instead?

Stop moving the goalpost, this isn’t a coaching conversation. We’re having this contract debate whether we have Tomlin, cowher, or Freddie kitchens as coach.

Your winning equation is to let our teams best player walk?

There is no winning equation, OBVIOUSLY and trading him isn’t “letting our team’s best players walk” it’s a combo of asset collection and not compounding mistakes.

Minkah had to go for an older player cuz dippy couldn’t figure out the simplest flaw in his deployment. FAIL

Spending money on Watt (who is also on a trend of being deployed in a ridiculous manner) should then equate to his departure too, yeah pretty sad a coach puts a team in this sort of predicament. But that is on the dumazz owner at this point. FAIL

Common theme is coaching…
We have a dipshit coach that dreams up the most asinine methods of deployment. Why play top dollar for a state of the art Tractor when all your coach is capable of using is a rake? Makes
No cents.

Thus it enters every facet of the team AND conversations cuz the root problem IS the root problem…

Fool me once shame on you
Fool me 9 damn times in a row and I’m just a bumbling moron that wants to be fooled 🤦🏻‍♂️

The good news is the asinine deployments get more frequent and drastic with every passing year…he’s moving further away from a desired destination not closer.

Literally the ONLY hope is an ancient outsider QB can come in an overcome the human hurdle to success for one last hoorah…that’s a damn thin shred of hope.

As far as talking about cash and salary cap that is boring AF and far down the list of problems for a team. The 90% rule is over a three year period, so no issues there attaining that number. Doesn’t have to be this year. There is rollover etc taboot. Also signing bonuses and guaranteed counts towards that cash spent and can be amortized to make numbers work. That **** is ez peezy to work out, especially for a numbers guy like Khan.
They absolutely don’t HAVE to pay TJ, not even close.

How much do you realistically think you’re getting if you trade Watt away? I have a feeling you and I are very far apart on that trade value and likely explains why we disagree.

But…. With this doomsday attitude why do you even follow the team?
“Coach sucks, owners suck, no point in signing good players.”

Cuz I too am loyal to a fault, just like my Steelers

I was around before this dipshit coach and owner took over and hope to be around after as well…tho I’m definitely more of a GA fan than Steeler fan cuz that team knows its head from its *** and values a legit standard and fields a great product. Never thought my Steelers would slip to #2.

There’s a difference between doomsday and lapping up a **** product. We have Rodgers so we have a solid 2% chance which is more than we’ve had in years…the bright side

As far as Watt’s value: if timed well following something like a Hutchinson injury may get a 1st from a desperate team with SB aspirations otherwise likely something like a 2nd next year and a conditional pick in the following draft thrown in if the team is desperate enough.

And never said “no point in signing good players” I’ve actually posted and stressed multiple times that Khan/Weidl have to build a bulletproof roster to overcome dippy, and that requires making many good moves and picks…but also not overpaying for past performances or the money won’t be there for better moves.
