With the Steelers wrapping up a first round bye Monday in Houston, it appears they will infact rest some key players on Sunday. Marcus Gilbert said that the Browns would face Landry Jones instead of Ben Roethlisberger. He also said that Le’Veon Bell would sit out the finale too. Me to Marcus Gilbert. "How does […]

The Brownies were just handed an opportunity to match their 1-15 record of 2016.
No Bell, Pouncey & B.J. Finney playing center? Is Foster still out? I get the "rest starters" concept but are the Steelers coaches approaching this game with a plan to win or an affordable throw away?

It is the Browns we still have a chance to win if we started my high school team.
This means I might be able to cheaply upgrade my seats to something better. (No offense Justin).

Good move in my opinion. I know the rust thin. I get it. But there is also the broken thing. As in Bell has over 400 touches this season. And if you are going to sit Bell you might as well sit Ben. The guys who are playing will play hard. I think they can win anyhow. Chances are light that the Jets could beat tye Pats anyhow.

This os a responsible decision... it gives everyone important a long break to get healthy and rested... it lets the backups get some game speed playing time in case someone does get hurt...

In years past, wed start ben and bell and let Brown rush back from injury for individual stat glory...

i.e., New York Jets, we know you're going to lose this weekend.

The only way Patriots lose is if Brady gets hurt & they’ll no longer be a contender anyway. The last 4 times we’ve gone into playoffs, we’ve had key guys hurt and it cost each time in getting eliminated. I’m okay with it; just don’t lose to these bums on principle

I'd like to see Landry play a solid game and show he can step up when counted on.

Also looking forward to seeing if Stevan Ridley looks anything like the running back he was a season or two ago. Not sure what a week of practice will do, but he'll be a bit less rusty than last game. We really need him to show something with Conner down.

I guess we'll see a steady diet of the likes of Justin Hunter, DBH and Eli. Again, a good opportunity for this group to hone their craft.

The Browns will be gunning for a win, so it should be a competitive game. Not sure what our rotation will look like on D, but hope they can hold it down and come out with a win. Regardless of what happens w Pats vs Jets. And above all, no injuries!

WTF????

The inmates are running the asylum!

hahahahaha

not that it matters, I thought they should maybe give the starters on offense a series or two just to keep active...but that's OK

I expect it will be a very competitive game.

I may certainly be wrong, wouldn't deny it if I was, but the NFL certainly has a vested interest in keeping the Browns from going 0-16. Particularly with this "Perfect Season" parade actually permitted and scheduled. It's a bad look for the NFL.

put that call into Al Riveron, problem solved

No need to put the call in. He controls all the TD reviews and all the reviews in the final 2 minutes of either half.

Unca Al is a powerful dude indeed.

Exactly like preseason. Don't play the talent,

AB
Ben
Bell
Pouncey

Won't play.

Personally I'd sit Heyward and DeCastro as well. Foster, do you have a headache? Don't rush back. Week off.

We can beat the Browns with our 3rd team. Plus Haden is all we need to destroy this team. No completions his way, I'm calling it!

He's pure like falling winter snow....sarcasm

I was trying to think who else I would sit, but a solid list.

If you look back at last season the entire starting Defense played. I expect to see the same thing Sunday

First thing I thought of......just like the 4th preseason game against Carolina every year.

Wonder what happens if the Jets are winning late in the game and Landry is struggling.

It matters a damn if everybody already knows. Just another reason to ***** about the coaches. I'd be sitting some of my defensive studs too. We're down our best LB, we don't need Watt, Heyward or Tuitt getting twinged up. Losing to NE, and that inexplicable loss to the Bears cost us home field. Don't make it worse by getting guys hurt, for a game that will in all likelihood mean nothing for playoff seeding.
