By: G.Stryker* Twitter @SNStryker & Instagram @SNStryker SteelerNation.com No I’m not talking about the offensive line coach, Shaun Sarrett and his nickname “Sweet Feet”. I’m talking about a video taken by Hunter Homistek @HunterAHomistek of DKPittsburghSports.com of Diontae Johnson* @Juiceup__3 running release patterns in training camp last year, just before his hip injury on August […]

EXCELLENT break down Cope, thanks for the great write up.

I see him being our #1 pretty dang quick. I think him and JuJu will make 1a &1b and it really doesn't matter who is designated which. He will have a monster year as he is doing everything right this off season.

Salute the nation

Ben stays healthy anything is possible with this team. Especially if our D is able to play to the standards of last season.

He was surprisingly explosive and seemed seasoned for a rookie. I have very high hopes for the season.

with the explosiveness he has and ability to streach the field and work ethic, I think he can grrom in to a go to play maker WR like AB maybe niot as good but has everything about same speed, hieght good hands, route running this to become a pro bowl type wr he will have to master by watvh ab footwork.
With a well balanced offfence I think he can be everything we had hope troy Edwards would of been.

I remember a couple of very good catches where the play broke (as usual last season) and the rook came back and found a sweet spot in the zone D to bail out the QB

he is very good when the CB presses he wiggles and made some nice back shoulder catches as well as double moves, have to keep using him in all way deep ball, reverses, screens any way where he can utiluize his superb speed and pinball running style.

And I will add, coming out of college, he had way better overall tape than AB. AB worked hard on his hands after college, to become one of the best hands catchers ever. DJ already has great hands. They can get even better, and his ability to clean release off of the press is what impressed me the most about his college tape. I was a swim move guy off the press. He's a break your ankles guy.

Also amazing that not only did he work through the groin injury all of last year, but he also made it through the rookie wall to be productive all season long. His snaps increased as the season progressed and he led the team in receptions. As I watch him, his ceiling appears to be getting higher!

Seriously **** AB.....Johnson is his own man. Johnson needs to step up to a new level. One, hopefully that people will not compare to AB. One that is his own comparison. AB isn't here anymore. His choice. **** him(AB). Stop comparing this young man to a ******* cancer.. Good luck Johnson on you creating your own body of work for people to compare others too. (Just so everyone knows..I have had a few drinks in me at this point. Sorry, Cope if I offended you in any way. Not my intention). I just want this young man to excel in his own light. Not the shadow of some cancerous player that went by the name of AB!!!!! :)

The way DJ hits a break, accelerates and then gets into his long-stride is amazing. He has game-breaking instincts and body control...and, oh yes...great hands. He's making Coach Drake very proud.
