Anyone else thinking that our punter and place kicker are worth keeping over Wing and Suisham?

They just have "IT" and are younger.

I wasn't to impressed with our punter today...

Didn't we trade Wing to the Giants?

I think Berry is good for drilling it as far as he can, but he REALLY needs to work on his accuracy to down kicks inside the 20

I wish Tomlin would've let the Boswell kid kick the ******* 50 yarder....last week too.

What happened to Berry? He was kicking the **** out of the ball in preseason. Looks like he's punting with his ******* knee now.

Good catch on switching it from the kicker back to the punter.

Not sure if wind had anything to do with it as I wasn't at the game. Flags looked like there was a little wind to contend with. None the less, OUR punter needs to PUNT. I think Sushi is going to be just a memory, at this point.

I sure would like to know how good the Boz is at kicking 50 yarders, but Tomlin will never freaking put him out there. But I'm sure one day when the Steelers are down by about 3 scores during a horrible wind storm, that's when he'll send him out for a 56 yard attempt.

Maybe Tomlin saw him in warm ups and saw he wasn't making FGs from more than 50..who knows.
Then again if Tomlin sent him out there and he missed and gave Bengals the short field, you best believe people are going to be bitching about sending him out for a 50+ yard FG.
Tomlin makes a good amount of mistakes and I'm not a huge fan but damn give the hating a little rest.

The point is to know when you can or can't try. Tomlin never had a problem with sending guys out there who had terrible 50+ averages to make attempts that had no friggen shot. Now, with a kid who appears to have a strong leg, he doesn't even try. There will be, at some point, a time when you will need a 50+ yd FG. Heck, there probably already has been the past two weeks. But like I said, we currently don't know if the kid can deliver one in the clutch. Scobee has apparently made Tomlin gun shy I guess.

Steel G:

Boswell has already kicked a 50+ yard field goal this year. It was from 51, against Arizona, at Heinz Field, just 15 short days ago. To go along with the other two long FGs (from 47 and 48 yards) he made in the very same game.

But maybe mdk2 is right -- Tomlin must have seen something in pregame warmups, and his gut told him to trot out his punter from the 35, who came through with an 18-yard beauty.

Good point. And that kick was made with the Steelers holding only a 2 point lead at the time against the Cards. But hey, Shades doesn't live in his fears...he just visits them from time to time.

The bungle kicker got off a 18 yard kick himself so the wind could've been a factor as I believe Hubert is a pretty reliable kicker for them. However, Berry has a game where he drills them and then other games like yesterday where he gets no yardage or hang time.
