I'll take the OT Wilson with Akers in 3rd

Yeah he is a big dude at 6'6" and 350 lbs ...... not often he drops to mid 2nd round in most mocks
Akers a big play talent amongst the 2nd tier of RBs and I think someone on the board mentioned the Steelers had contact with him
Harris can play both C/OG

addresses OL and a playmaker on OFF

Mock 1 I would be a happy camper as the first two picks would be solid.

I thought you would like that one...Slash
Dobbins was off the board........ so locking up a versatile guy for the OL for the next 10 years seemed the way to go...... Hail Cesar
CEH doesn't usually last this long but some teams prefer speed, size and amount of touches when selecting their RB .... just played out this way this time......3 down RB with security
Netane Muti has had injuries but I am willing to take the chance here..... this dude has monsterous upperbody strength .... I think I will nickname him RAGDOLL or maybe MAPLE SYRUP for all the pancakes he serves up on the field...... view some film ...he is fun to watch

Yeah CEH to me is a nice option regardless I am really high on him and actually don't talk about him enough. I think his pass catching ability will be really attractive too. if he gets drafted I think JSam can kiss his job goodbye.

Ruiz I think you can start him out at G to fill that void and later send him to C once Pounce retires. But adding an extra G was smart seeing that that position was down two bodies.

good work Paul, thanks for the effort
I like the 1st one but 3 OL feels like overkill, especially since you got Ruiz with the 2.49, he is a plug and play guy, the other 2 won't stand a chance to contribute. Maybe a S/LB/NT with the 4.124?

Obviously that first one is great 2 OL with a RB sandwiched inbetween. Nobody can tell the injury bug but it's next man up and we are a little thin in the OL department.

Did you happen to notice in that 1st mock when Josh Jone's went?

I haven't seen a mock yet where J Jones drops to the mid 2nd round.
I can easily see 5 OT gone in the 1st and I think Jones will either be the 5th of that group or the 6th OT taken off the board in early 2nd

I see Jedrick Wills Jr. , Andrew Thomas, Mekhi Becton, Tristan Wirfs being gone in the first 22 picks and then one of these 3 guys going late( Josh Jones, Austin Jackson or Isaiah Wilson) and the other 2 by midway in the second round

Pouncey is what Ben is a semi question mark. You know there isn't much tread left. Building for the future is smart sooner than later. Plus perhaps you can rotate both in. Not that your other options aren't valid as well.

But with Pouncey I wonder if we didn't see the beginning of a fall off last year. For me O-line is the biggest question mark and anything they can do to make it less of a question mark is welcomed.

The first line of defense is the offensive line. I'm in the same mind set as we need to start re-stocking the OL as ours is aging out. Pouncy & Villi seemed to have problems last season. Villanova may have just had a down year (I'm hoping that's the case) and will bounce back this season.

I'm patently waiting for the draft but know I don't have regular TV so I'll have to gain the "scoop" here and I'll call a friend who watches live for vocal up-dates.

and that's why you brought a SB champion C on Wisniewski, 31 years old. Poucey is 30, he is not declining yet. Bringing a guy like Ruiz gives you flexibility and you could have the vet Wis at C in case of injury while Ruiz slides to LG. You would still have the other rookie (Durant) plus Gray and in the worst case Feiler moving in.

In theory Chucks or Banner have shown enough to spot start

mock would be daylight robberby a C/G with the potential to be as good as Pouncey that for 2 years can play LG and then take over at C, a long term TE to replace Vance and a quality OT to develop
I would try to add muse in that mock or sign

I'm waiting for them to release the 2020 schedule. Isn't this done before the draft takes place?

Yes it is always released before the draft. The Steelers are favored in 10 out of the 16 games as of right now. 7 of 8 home games, I think the only home game they aren't favored is Baltimore. Favored on the road @ Giants, Jags, Bengals

Normally released the 2nd week of April it has been pushed back to the 3rd week of April lately.
However I read an article that they will release the schedule after the draft this year, likely on May 7 2020
There are several reasons for the delay. Obviously Covid 19 being one of them, the other I find interesting. Say they book a primetime game for Cincy early in the season to showcase Joe Burrow who is thought to be the #1 pick by many...... but it would leave the league looking awkward should Cincy trade that #1 pick away and the scheduled game does not include said player J Burrow.
I think they are trying to promote coming back to play and capturing the best opportunities with the schedule to showcase the top talent.

Here is the article title from March 31

I googled it after I posted this. Makes sense given the reluctancy to allow sporting events to take place in certain hot spot areas. We all have to hope this virus bullshit is behind us by then.

I usually start booking flights and hotel rooms as soon as the schedule gets released. Pushing the release back helps me make more educated decisions on what is likely to be available for travel.

Unfortunately booking travel and hotels may be the least of our worries this year. Not that I take all the Covid 19 reporting as accurate..... China has listed around 1300 new deaths today ........ so the secondary wave of corona could be a definite possibility to face after the primary one.

I doubt most leagues play this year ...... but give football the best chance as it is the furthest away
