PITTSBURGH, PA*– Pittsburgh Steelers‘ second-year wide receiver*JuJu Smith-Schuster is coming off of a phenomenal rookie season. However, entering this year’s minicamp, he’s dealing with a “frustrating” knee injury. Smith-Schuster has been very vague on the extent of his*injury but says he plans to be a full participant for training camp which starts July 26, 2018. […]

A decent amount of small injuries so far............................

Frustrating knee injury that has been building up and he finally got it checked. In Steelers world, that means, he just had surgery and will be out for at least a month or two. Hopefully, it's nothing worse than that.

I didn't take it as he just had surgery, not at all.

I'm hoping we are getting them out of the way for the climbing of the "STAIRWAYS to SEVEN" Trip.

I would rather see him get a small proccedure now and maybe be a couple weeks behind for camp then **** around with it and end up getting a proceedure in mid july.

Ya, but that is usually Steelers Speak for he probably did finally have some procedure - something he should have had at the end of the season but waited. Seems like we have at least one or two of those every year. If he didn't, I don't like hearing he has a nagging knee injury this early in his career or this coming season because he will need surgery at some point.

His interview said they have 5 weeks or something like that until camp and he thinks he will be good to go by then. To me, that means he probably did have some clean up done.

This is the time of year all the injuries are addressed, that should have been months ago. I get it , they would rather not intervene if they can get away with it, but what is The success rate for that?

For us, it seems slim to none. Seems like every time we take a wait and see approach with an injury it always leads to a surgery down the line.

You always take a wait and see approach. Surgery should never be the first option. Most NFL bodies are in peak shape (compared to everyone else). Most injuries will heal on their own. Especially when you have a long offseason.

The problem is the rare instances when there are setbacks or reinjury. Then hindsight makes it seem that the steelers did the wrong thing by waiting, but they are doing what is best for their players and their franchise.

You know what stories you never hear about? Steeler player heals during the offseason. Because the majority of the team does every year.

Anyone follow his snapchat or instaface see any videos of him recently with a limp?

I didn't see him with a limp Supe, but I saw the post he showed of him running 'sprints'. Looked like 60% speed and he wasn't fluid yet. But he's working his way back.

Yeah but we've all seen this **** before. Injury that if surgery is done in Marvh he is good to go in July. Instead it lingers and it gets done anyhow but in June or July.

Hindsight is always near 20/20. Do you really think the A-1 doctors would let them go until June/July if they knew surgery was needed back then??? I wouldn't want surgery if I was going to heal naturally. It's easy for us here to say what to do to another as we have NOTHING riding on the long or short term of outcome. If JuJu has had surgery he will be 100% by start of season thus the timing of it.

Because what you fail to understand nearly all injuries should heal on their own in 3-4 months.

Sometimes you have situations of reinjury. It happens. The knife will never be the first choice.

This ^^

Having undergone a number of sports-related injuries, rehabilitation to address certain injuries, and orthopedic surgeries for some others, I can 100% attest to the fact that surgery is not a magic bromide.

JuJu's Dislocated Pinky

Let the A1 doctors with very good testing equipment and imagery decide. All Im saying is Id rather not see it linger out into camp. If its something simple clean it up now.
