Jaylen Warren 2-year extension

Nice move! Now if they think that highly of Cal Austin and believe him to be their #2, then extend him now as well.

i wonder about him and johnson and their 2 styles.

They are very different. How do they platoon them and run the same plays.?
Run different plays suited to their skill set?

Good to see Warren hanging around some more.

👏

If the contract if for the right price, then yes.

If you are going to pay him true WR2 money, then not so much a hurry.

He’s a midget with a little speed, but dinged or hurt way to much for legitimate WR2 moneys.

The injuries will help in the process of losing a step.

Draft the #2 this coming draft.

Salute the nation

So basically six mil per and that is perfect for a 1 who probably will be a 2 rb in a year or so.

He gets security if he gets demoted, the Steelers get security if KJ doesnt work out.

This isnt surprising... he was an RFA who signed his tender this offseason... they usually are looking to extend those guys and keep them away from UFA

Nah, they probably see RW as the 2 if he pans out. CA3 will get manageable 2/3 money if he does well... but could get a bigger deal if he does great... neither side probably want to commit just yet

If he suddenly became Ty Hill 2.0 then you transition tag him and work out a trade for a second or third that you draft another wr with

No rush to pay CA3
Dude has barely broke 700 yards in first 3 years

If he does great they have options with extending him (or even trans tag)

Good to see Warren retained for a decent number as they’ll need to continue building the defensive LOS, addressing that aging secondary and need a top line WR next year…as well as taking a swing at a franchise QB if they get the balls to pull that trigger and quit using retreads.

Yesterday I saw an interview with one of the scouts for Bill Parcells and Parcells gave the scout an *** chewing when he wanted to draft a small receiver. He said I need the biggest strongest players I don’t want you ever to draft a small person ever again.

The football field is not for midgets

This is a good signing. Warren works his butt off. Can't wait to see the 3-headed running back machine in operation as the season goes by.
Hopefully he isn't running into stacked boxes and he learns to hold onto the ball a bit better. A nice story though for sure. Went from a $12,000 SB to $12 mill guaranteed.

Please keep in mind that I never said I think he’s a #2 but that if the Steelers think that then they should extend him now.
I personally think he’s a #3 or #4 with plenty of speed but he is do damn small and concerns me with potential injuries.
This team imo badly needed to do what they could to get a #2 this off season but they failed to do do.
Roman Wilson idk what we have here, I just don’t see him as a legit #2 but more of a #3 receiver. We shall see soon enough.

I think that was more than Najee got per season.

Nice move to recognize a core contributor on O.

I wonder if Boz gets a boost before Sunday?

dude.

It’s hard for me to imagine ,, sending in a play and then say oh wait johnson is in,, run this different play.
If they don’t know each players strengths and don’t have some pre planned plays for such and such player that would be more concerning. Anywho both RBs can cut well you should be able to run similar plays…

I don't know. For 2 years we ran a blocking scheme that some say was not to Harris' strength. Add in the most simplistic offense where most knew what exactly what we were going to do. About the only thing that would really surprise me is if Tomlin learns from his decade of failures and moves on from them.

Tomlin called Warren the “featured runner”. He went from 149 carries in 2023 to only 120 last year. Combined, that’s still 76 fewer carries than Saquon got last year as the “featured runner” in Philly, 56 fewer than Henry.

No idea what he’s thinking here.
