The point I’m trying to make is we aren’t hurting nearly as bad as some here make out, the CB position on the outside is pretty good.

Yes he was, a guy who was an afterthought and ridiculed by many including myself. This is going to be a tough decision, those positive stats and rating will be front and center when his agent confronts the front office about a new contract. Not sure what the initial asking price will be considering a half season of good performance with a career of play that was average to underwhelming at best.

Good post IC, it’s a point of discussion that has flown under the radar considering all the talk about Gainwell.

Agreed man..
I would add a one technique defensive linemen to that list also, in fact if we have a chance to get Hunter or McDonald at number one I would pull a trigger..
Although we could probably wait and get an equally good player in McClellen in the second..

He just needed a shot. It’s hard to play that position part time and be successful. I’ve been in that kids corner for several years now. Just hoping that he get more playing time.

Problem being he is a UFA with his best season under his belt. He will have a market and zero connection to this coaching staff.

I think they will retain him, pay fair market value.

He will go out and test the market, then give the Steelers a chance to counter.

I've been saying this, everyone clamoring for a CB early, be it outside or nickel...we have Echols for the nickel, and Pierre and Samuel can be resigned. That's the route I go, I even bring back Dugger.

Then you focus the draft on WR and big uglies. MAYBE a QB depending on the round and what is available.

Perhaps . You could say bring in an outside FS, CB , inside WR(maybe Robinson) outside WR then hit the trenches. I think that corner can be an upgrade not necessarily bringing it back for the CBs that were here last season..

Dugger on the cheap, yes. The offense needs to be the focus, but we need trench workers still. 1trench worker per side of ball.

I also see our defensive cost becoming way less and Not the highest paid in the league NFL.

That money difference needs to go into he offense.

He was lights out his first season or two... but rarely ised... he fell off when they started trying to use him one on one with superstars because everyone should be able to do everything perfectly or some other standard is the standard BS... he got a bad rap...

Totally agree with this…
Basically our high IQ coaching staff almost ruined the kids confidence..
He must be very mentally strong, which helps him excel at that position.
Sincerely, hope we can resign him because I think he has a chance of being considered forhis first pro bowl..

DK Sports said in his video (unless i miss-interpreted it) that Pierre didn’t have enough snaps, but had he been graded into the mix………

He would have been rated the best in the NFL. We’re talking this 2nd half of the season play of his.

That is a pretty good way to end the season.

I think JPJ was ranked the #1 over-all best.

Good list of needs. I’d add DL in the first 3 rounds. It took Cam playing like a superhero for that group to be average against the run this year and Cam won’t be that guy very much longer.

Maybe a new scheme from a new staff can help some too

Most definitely defensive line.
In particular at one technique, defensive lineman.
I’m looking hard at Hunter or McDonald with our first pick.
If not, those two gentlemen, then I say draft McClellan out of Missouri with our second pick.

I think a new scheme will definitely help.

Even if Cam was playing under the same scheme as last year, he would not match last year’s stats / play.

Father Time has caught Cam and he will decline from here on out. I don’t want to be correct…….. but….
