James Harrison the actor?

And Harrison was better? Besides one semi-outburst in N.E., what exactly did he do that showed he was a better player than Dupree at that time? Nada, nothing, Zilch. He was terrible in N.E. If he was still at that time anything remotely like the Deebo that you're thinking, they would have brought him back the next year. Didn't happen.
So, if your choice is to play a past his prime old guy, or a first round pick you want to develop, hope develops ... I'm playing the youngster.
If he didn't have anything left in the tank then Belicheat wouldn't have signed him. I note that unlike Shades for the past ten years, he got to the Super Bowl without buying a ticket. I would have played Deebo maybe 30% of snaps. Situational football and things of that nature.

Point of clarification; I never said Deebo didn't have ANYTHING left in the tank. I'm going to paraphrase myself here and say that what I was saying/said was that if the potential benefits of getting a young first round draft pick game exposure/playing time outweighed trotting a past his prime Deebo onto the field. As far as any "promises" go, you only get the benefit of that type of promise if you show you deserve it. They viewed Deebo as a liability in coverage, at least. Throw in the ******* behavior and he deserved even less.
