James Harrison appreciation thread!

You are exactly right. When Bill Walsh was asked what is the most single important factor to winning football games in the NFL, he said simply: "Pass rush, late in the game." I was surprised knowing him to be an offensive wizard to say something like Yards Per Comp.%. I think it was Fred Dean? who he signed just to be a 4th qtr. sack machine.

Good post

I don't see how he doesn't get into the hall of fame. His resume is pretty impressive:

defensive player of the year
Steeler sack record
biggest play in Super Bowl history
2 rings.....maybe 3!

Still a force at 40 years old? It's un-heard of for a linebacker to this good at his age.

Hurtled another HOFer, LT on an interception return.
Power bombed a Browns fan.

There are lots of reasons to love this guy!

their has to be a way to get deebo watt and Dupree on the field at the same time.

They had Watt dropping back in the middle of the field quite often in this past game. He would drop back, scan what the O was doing and then react. Not sure if that is typical for an OLB. And, that was before Williams got hurt.

Clearly Harrison can still be productive, if even for a series here and there. Question is: Why hasn't he had more playing time so far this season?

Tomlin's folly. Harrison is good vs the run, a leader, and has something left as a pass rusher. The good news is now that the fans and his teammates know he can play, Tomlin will have a hard time keeping him in-active for games.

Who thought he couldn't play? They were allegedly saving him. Looks like that worked well.

We could have used him vs the Jaguars. He sat. There is a difference between dressing and playing a limited amount of snaps, and not playing at all. That was Tomin's choice.

I think Harrison is good for 15-20 snaps a game, and I would not be shy giving him more work if Durpee is having issues. I sort of hope Harrison is getting in a little work at the other OLB spot in practice.

We could have used a tipped pass to land in AB's hands and not in the Jags hands too. It also appears that the coaching staff had a definitive offensive gameplan against KC and they executed. They didn't do **** v Jax except fall behind and panic.

Why? Dupree is the new Mr. Invisible.

Except when he's picking up stupid roughing-the-passer penalties, that is.
