James Conner Standing Out in OTA’s

With Le’Veon Bell continuing his holdout, second year running back James Conner is making his presence known and standing out for all of the right reasons. Our coaching staff needs to rest BELL when necessary and NOT just ask Bell if he's tired. Conner can Carry the rock and from the sounds of things has this offense way better figured out than last year. Some knocked him on his pass blocking skills.......maybe deservedly so but it's a whole new year and he is there, NOT like a certain other running back. I know this is without pads but think about this......BELL won't be putting pads on until near September 1st....................CONNER will put his on W-A-Y before that.

Bottom line is good things are being said and hope he keeps improving on that.

Conner and our rook. Plus that Ridley guy. Give them all a turn in the rotation.

The period to pull the tag and not impact the conditional draft pick formula expired over two months ago.

Oh I'm sure the coaching staff has been absolutely raving about him to every microphone they can find. Not that James hasn't been doing good but I have no doubt they want it to get back to Le'Veon as much as possible how well the other RB's are doing. A little more leverage never hurts....although I don't think Bell cares either way, as long as he gets his 20 million per from somebody next year.

Next year his RB shelf life will have depreciated even more. I'd be down to 10 million a year for 3 years then.

Yep. But not for $17 million per. A team is going to give him a sold deal, good guaranteed money, but will not spend $70 million+ on a guy one joint away from a year-long suspension.
 
Bell is going to hold out again and skip camp.

With a new OC and Bell knowing exactly what he is going to make in 2018 why not sign before mini camp? Answer given he’s selfish and holding a grudge.

Coming in rusty again isn’t helping the team.

Conner's problem was that he couldn't pick up blitzes. We won't know if he improved until the pads go on.

Do u thi nk Bell actually cares about the team? He cares about himself. Doesn't matter if the team wins or loses, as long as he gets paid. Tons of athletes like that. It's not about winning to them. Oh well....

There are still a few but seems like they are further between than the old days. I thin k the whole new civilian workforce is like that. They want to start at the top of the job,......not work their way up. A lot of athletes want the money due to short life of their respective employment. BELL recinding a little on his demands poses a couple things..........1) he needs the attention that his mouth brings him through the media...........2) he is finding out the STEELERS have done this before and might feel he wants the security knowing the STEELERS are fine with him leaving at end of season.

EITHER way he has worked himself into a corner two years in a row. Him showing up at mini camp / ota's would have gone a long way (and don't give me the injury bullshit......)
