For one thing, if that hole is gonna be so hard to fill then maybe the defensive scheme was more the problem.

Chicago AND Jacksonville ran all over us with Shazier playing.

Change defensive scheme and beat the jags.

Better yet do not overlook lesser competition

Both Hunter and DHB have suspect hands.

Everybody has weak spots. The Jags had a real good defense last year but we managed to hang 42 on them in the playoffs (and still lose).

The problem is the whole team mentality. The players are excellent on paper, but if no one kicks their *** when they don´t tackle, don´t catch, celebrate 10 seconds after a 2 yard gain, then nothing will change. They need their coaches´ spit in their face and playbook up their ***.

I'm all for that and each new season we have expectations of being better with the players we signed / drafted / retained................ I for one hold the coaches to be better also. I think we made good additions along both the player and coaching personal. I'm excited and looking forward to this season as every season past and future.

The defense still is a big problem, not getting off the field on third down. Giving up way to many big play by the defensive backs, causing the offense to many times having to go more than 80 yards to score. Put up or shut up as long as you have a coach not able to make changes during the games where nothing is happening continues to haunt the Steelers let alone out coached by certain coaches. We have a good team and we all feel we could get to the big game but a lot of BUTS..
