Is something special brewing? We have been 7-5 and peaked late before.

The offense with the emergence of Green now has three good options. Ben is still playing lights out.

The Defense is better. The LB's and DB's have been better in coverage and intercepting the ball. Butler seems to be making the right calls. With Harrison back in the lineup, flags are flying, and sacks are coming.

I would be a bit happier had the Ravens lost yesterday...

I'm afraid to agree, even though everything in me says yes.

I've had the jinx before.

We're passing the eye test right now. I really like how the team looked yesterday

Isn't it amazing how much better our defense looks when they actually call the holding penalties when Harrison is mugged by the LT?

The road games will be the test. Buffalo's offense is not very good I'm thinking 21-24 points should be enough for us. I was surprised how much the giants struggled moving the ball. Obviously harrison should be starting which is both good and bad.

One week at a time. Buffalo on the road will be a battle. They run the ball well and that's not been our strong suit this year haven't been gouged by good running teams.

So coach, how do you assess Davis's play yesterday? He looked solid. Making plays at the LOS, knocking down passes, and getting his first pick.

Don't expect Coach to give a response, much less an objective view. Will probably say he would be average, only had he knock down the pick, instead of catching it. Forget about the bogus block in the back, Davis return would have been at midfield had no flag been thrown.

The defense looks much better with Harrison playing full time. I was impressed with our rookie defenders, there may be hope.

Steelers now 7-1 when they score 24+ points

I'm too cynical to get too positive about the rest of the season. I see improvements im happy to see!

He should have just knocked down that int it was 4th down we would have had better field position and he dropped another int in the end zone...

Hah. I know you text Jeff yesterday about it.

The block in the back call was ******. He should've cut back to the left around the 40 and he would've scored.

The D has looked pretty darn good the last three weeks and that's without Heyward and this week without Heyward and Hargrave for most of the game. Sure, one was Cleveland, another was a luckless Colts but the Giants are no joke. They have a decent running game and 3 good WR's. We pretty much shut them down, including OBJ. If the D keeps this up and the O can figure out how to play on the road, we can beat anyone. We have 2 road games in a row. Although the Bills game isn't a must win, the final three games of the season absolutely are because they are in the division. Win all 4 and we are in. Win the 3 division games and we need help from a tie breaker.

We can't continue to have all these penalties making the offense 1-15, or worse. We have an offense based on Brown and bell, teams will see this and take one away. Was nice to see green being more productive.

Thanks for asking. He's better. Daivs' play has improved much, but I wonder how much it has to do with QB's he has been facing often put in " must pass " bad situations.

But his tackling seems better, and he's out of position less.

Most coaches consider the potential for improvement a big part of evaluating prospects. Looks like the Steelers did a good job on their first three.

what worries me is that the ravens are peaking too

Quick decisions, flying up to the LOS filling gaps, getting a TFL and a pick...kid looks like he can play and getting better every week. Also a very nice shoe string tackle in the middle of the field that had plenty of room behind if he missed...but he didn't!

They should be 8-0 but gave up that last TD to Zeke and the Cowboys in the last minute. I think 24 pt barrier is a good target for the Steelers moving forward. :jump:

3 game win streak, beat a decent team in NYG. If the Steelers win against Buffalo, then yes! Something special will be in the process
