Is it too much to ask our coaches to when it really matters beat a team that you have more talent than?? Even with Duck Hodges behind center, we have more talent than the Jets. As a “complainer” on these boards, I come here to hear other die-hards vent or celebrate and to get some clarity on what goes on with my beloved Steelers. I like Mike Tomlin and think he has many great coaching qualities. But why do we seem to collapse when it counts every single time over the past 10 years?? I don’t mind losing to good teams but losing to crap teams is so disappointing and regularly so....

Every year i start calculating paths to the playoffs/ home field around mid season... sometimes earlier... every year we blow a couple winnable games and totally **** ourselves... i get how organized and intelligent Tomlin is, but at some point doesn’t he have to be accountable for the hideous results we have had... i mean this is almost the end of noll era bad...

If it helps, and I doubt it does, the Steelers beat some of crap teams this year.

Yeah. I don’t understand the defensive scheme at all today. It looked like a completely different defense. No pressure. Minimal sacks. No picks.

This is called being outcoached, out schemed. Talent on our side has covered it up at times but this is what you get when it’s a level playing field. Tomlin was badly out coached last week and he was today too. Yes, his two clown coordinators are to blame too.

The Steelers have more talent on defense, but not offense. I have no clue how we were favored today or in any of our games down the stretch. Our offense is a No. 1 overall pick type of offense.

This. Crap teams and rookie coaches and staffs. The only playoff teams we've face is the Rats L, Pats L, Seattle L, and Buffalo L. Because we had a 2nd place schedule we didn't play many playoff teams at all. The Rams are the only above .500 team we beat. And they are 8-7.

They were favored because the Jets have more injures, less talent on offense, and less talent on defense. Their OL has give up the most sacks in the NFL. Bell has done nothing. Their defense is 21st in TOs and 26th in Ints. Their offense is dead last in the league in rushing yards per attempt, 31st in yards, and 31st in rushing yards. They are horrible and injured.

I disagree with the less talent on offense. Looking at who we on the field today the Jets offense was more talented at least after all our injuries.

Yet that offense scored 34 points in back-to-back games this year.

So, we're 8-3 against ****** teams? That's something, I guess.

How can the Jets have less talent on offense?? We are on our 3rd or 4th QB. JuJu is having a crap year and our other WRs are extremely young. The Jets have Darnold, Bell, Anderson, Crowder. You could argue against Bell, but Connor can't stay healthy so Bell>Snell, Samuels, etc etc... On D we may have more talent, but the fact we had little pressure today is concerning.

I wouldn’t say we were out coached. Who the hell do we have to coach to on offense right now. A bunch of street pick ups and never will be players left uninjured. Butler coached a decent game and has been much better this year despite the offense totally screwing the defense time and time again. I was ready to ride him out on a rail last year. Just Randy this year.

We are so predictable on offense... we line up and teams just eradicate the first read almost every time... every run is all but telegraphed based on personnel and formation... it’s painfully obvious Fitchner is not even remotely ready to be an OC without Ben...

I can't wait until we get Coach Randy an offense loaded with first-round draft picks three years from now so they can finally be good.

Even more than that, the Steelers have been in this pattern of running on first and second down damn near exclusively for how long now? predictable doesn't cover it. And for the love of goodness, can we get some quick slants and crossing routes?

You know, they ran a couple of nice screens today. Then they ran a screen that was blown up and never ran another one. ?????

In the early part of the 4th qtr Whyte had two carries and picked up a first down. He was immediately taken out and never stepped foot on the field again.. that sums up our coaching.

Some coaches will only carry you so far. We do have talent on this team and at times it has compensated for the coaching staff. Take away a team leader like Ben and the rest of the team has to compensate. That has happened this year by the DEF finally playing well on a regular basis and giving us a chance to win games despite the OFF woes.

I compare Mike Tomlin to another of my sports teams .....Coach Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors
Casey brought DEF and a winning tradition to the city but he could not get them over the hump. He put up better numbers over his tenure but there were games against other coaches where he just didn't seem to have the ability to make the necessary adjustments or strategic time outs to reel the team back in or stop a run against them.
Enter coach Nick Nurse......calm, cerebral, always scheming...... he was promoted from within but had to deal with many personnel changes through the year. He managed the Kawhi Leonard situation and got the most of the supporting cast to win the title.
Fast forward to this year..... no Kawhi .....mega injuries and they still have the 4th best record in the league....... hell tonight they were missing 3 starters and they came back from a 30 deficit by scoring 47 points in the 4th quarter. He doesn't give up on his players and they don't give up on him. Steelers could benefit from this kind of coaching. As I think Tomlin has gone past his expiration date.

Even the play that got them tied at half. Really. That was a half witted unbelievably lucky bit of horse ****. You are at like the 25 or 30. A sack. A tackle in the field of play, you get nothing. That was pure fluke.

We're on our 2nd or 3rd QB. Rudolph was the backup to Ben. He was given a 1st round grade by Tomlin and the heir apparent to Ben. Bell sucks this year and didn't play at all last year. JuJu having a bad year doesn't mean he doesn't have the talent. Darnold was drafted in 2018 and has almost the exact same stats as Rudolph.

Fact is that the Steelers have tons more defensive talent, more OL talent, identical QB talent, better RB (both Conner and Snell have higher YPC than Bell) and what was suppose to be an up and coming star WR in JuJu. No reason to lose this game.

Please stop with the injury excuses. They have more injuries than we do. And it isn't close. They looked more talented because they were better coached. Since the offenses don't play against each other let's me ask this. Who should score more? Our offense against their defense or their offense against our defense?
