Is it fair to say Villanueva is already better than Adams?

yes
..........

Yes. It isn't even close IMHO.

Villanueva is looking good-

but lets not forget that he is facing 3rd/4th stringers at this point

On first look I will have to say yes also. Rushers aren't even sniffing turning the corner. And he hasn't been off balance or in a uncomfortable spot yet. Brightest aspect of the game by far. It's the easy way he is handling these guys that's impressive.

That's the difference I've seen when he was in. No one got the edge on him all nite..71 instantly gives it up

Remember it's his first game action as a LT. Very impressed

we have a keeper

And you know he will scrap to get better. He is mentally tough. Can't have enough of those guys.

Let him be Beachums backup but he was pretty damn good. Locked the left side down. Could be a great RT if we run into trouble there.

as a lt already better than adams, better feat and knee bend.
It sure looks like jessie james is gonna be on the ps unless he shows he can make the easy catches that he should of made tonite

I want to say no, but Adams probably gets beat once or twice for a sack tonight. I'll still reserve judgement for a few weeks, but he was very impressive tonight.

He was my high point player tonight.

If Adams can't get back soon and he plays like that he will win the job. I felt bad for James. I had hopes and he had a cool name. Hopefully it was nerves and he gets better. After tonight you might be able to stash him on the practice squad if he looks good in practice.

AV could be our back up at both tackle and tight end he sure as hell can block better than jesse james and likely catch and run better too. I think jesse will be a big project as will coats, he might be known as jackets from now on for cutting off routes.

One game but he did look good. Can't say yes yet.

his needle is pointing up

Yup, they showed that TE highlight reel during the game. Could be a weapon as a tackle-eligible TE.

No, it is not. Not yet! For that Villanueva will need to run with the first team and show his worth. Adams did okay last year to be truthful.

I will say this; the V man is playing very well. He's a physical marvel. Huge, strong, but he can move his feet. I see value right away as a goal line player. Villanueva's his mental fortitude is excellent.

I'd give Villanueva that spot over James. The Steelers could keep two TE's, and have Villanueva as a swing man / package player. James was horrible last night.

No... It's good to know that he had a good game though
