Pouncey got in on name recognition, he absolutely didn't deserve it this year.
 
Congrats to TJ, Cam, and MF! Well deserved.

I think Haden and Dupree got snubbed.

And if Pouncey and Decastro are pro bowlers, just how bad is the rest of the O-line? No running lanes, no pass protection, 2 pro bowlers?

I do agree on Decastro, though. Sometimes, while watching the offense suck, I just focus on him. He is really good, especially when pulling and crushing people. Word of advice: don't watch Villanueva and Foster!

Despite issues up front, DD has had a pretty darn good year from what I can see. I went back and watched him in a few games...guy is going to be tough to replace when he hangs his cleats up.
 
Damn shame Tuitt got hurt...

Also nobody on O deserves this... not one of them...
Pouncey probably leads the league in bad snaps... Decastro hasn’t made a difference...
 
Pouncey didn't earn it this year, but the other four were well deserving. No snubs.
 
Pro bowl is a popularity contest, nothing more.

Yeah not sure Pounces overall game was Pro bowl worthy. I would have gave arguments for Nelson and Haden. Both overall have had excellent seasons. And I might get some ear flame for this but Dupree is in the ballpark as well...

DD has been good but Pouncey sucks this year. His main job is to snap the ******* ball and he has AT LEAST 10 and probably more like 20 bad snaps this year. I have no idea what has happened to him but if he would have rolled some of those snaps back to Ben, many would have resulted in turnovers as Ben isn't as nimble as the young QB's to go down and get the balls off the ground.

He has also been walked back into the pocket way too many times.
 
I read an article that Matakevich led in ST voting. He may get in as well.
 
No way Pouncey should be on the pro bowl roster this year. He's playing himself right out of town when his contract expires.

Forgot about Matakevich. Kozora is losing his **** that Matthew Slater got in w/ half the STs tackles, but again, name recognition.

He sucked this year and has been over rated since a very good rookie year. When Pouncey went down he was replaced twice by journeyman with very little drop off.

The historical knowledge of this board is not very good at times. To re-fresh your memory if that's possible. . Pouncey was replaced for a long time from a player out of the NFL, and the replacement did just fine. Heck when he was suspended this year Finney did just fine.


This season he's give up too many QB pressure and sacks and has had his share of penalties. His long snapping has been off as well. Him making the pro bowl shows what a joke it has become.


Off the field, he's been lucky. This is a guy who was accused of beating up a 150 pound man and a woman at a bar. The cameras just happened not to be working that hour. He tweeted about his football health status when Tomlin asked him not to and once berated a fan by saying I'm rich and you not. Oh yeah, he asked the press to lay off his brother because he is sensitive when he was suspended.

He's a good player. His prime appears to be gone and he's not Mike Webster or Dirt Dawson. The Steelers will need to replace Pouncey sooner than later.

NO flame at all, BUD is disruptive as all get out. NELSON I felt he deserved to go. Haden right on the edge. Just my opinion.
